“Good night, my mate,” Tor said, kissing the back of my neck as he snuggled in closer. “Sleep well.”

“But no dream walking!” Mack ordered. “It’d be really nice to not have a wet dream for once.”

“So I’m not enough to inspire one?” I leaned over, pressing my head into his shoulder.

“Of course, you are.” He pressed a kiss to my forehead. “But if I’m going to blow my load, I want it in you, on you, or somewhere that makes clear what you are.” I looked up at him. “Mine.”

“Ours,” Kieran corrected.

“OK.” I closed my eyes, knowing now it’d take a goddamn earthquake to wake me this time. “Group sex in the morning. Sleep now.”

Having a man sleep over or worse, sleeping in his bed, always felt weird to me. It was like I was a dog sleeping with one eye open, conscious of what he was doing, how heavily he was breathing, rousing each time he farted. Not now. Some part of me I’d unconsciously kept balled tightly unrolled, and I let out a long sigh, sleeping all through the night until I was woken by a rhythmic buzz. I groaned, shifted, found myself pinned tightly to the bed, until I opened my eyes and realised what it was. My phone was plugged in and sitting on the bedside table, the screen flashing as it rang and rang.

“Shit!” Mack’s eyes flicked open at that, staring at me blindly as I clambered over his body, then Kieran’s. “Shit, shit, shit…”

It would be my boss, wondering where the hell I was. Nope, it was the weekend, so maybe it was Daria. A glance at the screen had my eyes widening. I tapped on it seconds later, putting it to my ear.

“Nanna?”

“Lunch,” she announced. “Today and no excuses.” The guys roused at that, all bleary eyed and ruffle haired. “And bring those animal men of yours. It's beyond time I met them. Did you hear what they were saying on the news last night?” My face screwed up, bracing myself for what came next. “They say the police shot some wolf shifter last night. Wanted for murders all over the state.”

“Right, so lunch sounds great.” I looked meaningfully at the guys, waiting for them to contradict me. “Is there anything you want me to bring?”

Of course there was. She rattled off a long list, one I tried desperately to remember every item.

“Be here by midday,” she ordered. I glanced at the alarm clock and saw we didn’t have long. Apparently, we’d slept half the day away. “And Harper.”

“Yeah?”

“I hope these shifter men are the right ones for you. Strong men, males by your side, that’s what you need, with the world going to hell and all.” I sucked in a breath to tell her exactly how perfect they were for me, but no one stopped Nanna when she was on a roll. “Don’t be late. Can’t abide men who don’t do what they promise they will.”

I smiled as I shook my head.

“Be there soon, Nanna. Early rather than on time.”

As I ended the call, Tor got off the bed. A stretch and I got to see all of those massive muscles on display, as well as how much he was anticipating a long, lazy fuck in the morning.

“So morning sex is off the table?”

“Bloody hell, Tor…” Mack growled.

“Not off the table,” I replied with a grin, leaping off the bed. “Just postponed for dessert. Impress my grandmother. Answer all of her friends’ really intrusive questions and prove that you’re worthy of being called my mate and then…” I glanced at the bed. “You’ll get a cream pie as well as apple pie for afters.”

“I thought you put cream on the apple pie…?” Tor muttered to Kieran.

“There is no way we are convincing your grandmother that we are worthy,” Mack groaned, scrubbing at his face. “I’m having second thoughts about Tor being part of this pack.”

“Not really.”

I nudged him with my hip and that had him smiling.

“Not really,” he agreed, right as Tor and Kieran walked past us.

“So the cream is jizz and Harper…? Ohh…” Tor smacked his forehead. “Yep, I am onboard with this mission now.”

“Not too late to back out.” Mack smiled down at me, making clear he wasn’t serious. Well, maybe a little serious. “You can say you just have the one mate.”

“Never.” My fingers traced the bite marks on my neck and his eyes bled silver as he watched me shiver. “We’re all in this together.”
