It’d been so long. He’d nearly forgotten how wonderfulgoodfelt.

“I’m with you, Leo,” she murmured. “Sowith you, but I need you to move.”

He choked out a laugh. He needed that, too. “Your fault,” he said. “You feel…”

“Rectified?” she teased.

God, she had this amazing way of making him smile, too.

“Working on it.” He dipped down to kiss her quick before pressing his palms on the mattress on either side of her head and locking his elbows. “I’m working on it,” he repeated, holding her gaze as he began to thrust.

Slow, at first, wanting to enjoy the feel of her warmth engulfing him. The drag and pull of their bodies was already nearly too much. Hunger and tenderness washed through him. He could take her hard and fast, or slower and savor the bliss.

He aimed for something in between.

Leaning down, he captured one of her beckoning nipples in his mouth, while he lifted enough to slide a hand between them to stroke the spot that drove her wild.

“Leo…I…” Kaydee moaned beneath him, trembling and bucking and tightening around him while she burst.

He watched her face as she went over the edge. Her eyes closed, she threw her head back, and her lips parted with a moan that nearly took him with her.

Damn, that was hot.

He was going to hold on to that image forever. It was honest, and pure, and real. As real as the heat spiraling down his back and tingling his balls. He straightened and grasped her hips, pulling nearly all the way out before plunging deep, calling her name as he let go of his control and came with her. As he pumped in and out, he closed his eyes, and his whole being centered on their connection and the feel of warm, slick heat hugging him tight, embracing him as she continued to coax out the fiercest release of his life.

It was wild and intense, and when he was finally spent, he collapsed on top of her, dragging air into his lungs. The woman was a thief. A beautiful, sensual, sexy thief who stole his breath. And his bones. Yeah, they were definitely gone, because he sure as shit couldn’t feel any.

A few seconds later, he mustered enough strength to roll off her so she could breathe. “Still with me?”

“Yes.” Panting, she turned to him and smiled. “Look forward to coming with you again.”

He laughed. God, he loved her wit. “That could be arranged.”

“Good to know.” She turned onto her side and rested her chin in her hand. “This artwork is amazing,” she said while skimming her free hand lightly over the tattoo on his arm.

“The bottom part’s new.” Christ. Why the hell did he tell her that?

Her finger softly traced the boots beneath the rifle. “A fallen soldier, right?”

“Yeah.”

Shit.

What was wrong with him?

He never talked about his tattoo. Or the reason behind the new part—Drew. Dammit. Great sex relaxed more than his body. It loosened his damn tongue. She literally fucked him stupid.

“I’m sorry,” she said, brushing her lips over the ink.

Unexpected and fierce, a rash of emotions swirled inside his chest. Part of him wanted to run the hell away, but the other part wanted to crush her close.

Let happen whatever was going to happen…

Before driving here today, he’d made that decision. And he would, as long as he didn’t have to talk about his past. That wasn’t going to happen. No way. It would lead to telling her about his mistakes, and he couldn’t bear to see disappointment cloud the satisfaction he’d put in her eyes. He liked how she saw him. Whole. Strong. At least that was the impression she gave him. He didn’t want her opinion of him tainted by his past.

Yeah, he was done talking. But it was too early to go fetch Nate and his grandmother from the rec center.

Kaydee suddenly sat up and inhaled. “Oh my gosh. I’m sorry, Leo. You must be starving. I didn’t offer you any supper.”
