“She’s our second girl in two months to fall pregnant.” He says, referring to one of our sex workers.

“This isn’t supposed to happen.” I frown. “All the girls are supposed to be protected. The men signed forms agreeing to use protection.” I pause. “Is there a connection?”

“You're wondering if it’s the same client.” Kenji says, rubbing his chin. “It could be. There’s only one way to find out.” He says, standing.

“I’ll go with you. It’s been too long since I’ve stopped by and made my presence known.”

“What will Cleo think?” he smirks.

“Cleo will have to get over it. I’m not touching the women and they won’t be touching me. It’s strictly business.” I say as I pocket my phone.

“Whatever you say boss.” Kenji says as we walk toward the door.

Silently, we walk to the underground parking garage.

“Meet you there?” Kenji calls out as he slides into his car.

I nod as I slip on my helmet, throwing my leg over my bike. Turning the bike on, I feel the engine come alive, vibrating beneath me. I pull out ahead of Kenji and take off. The streetlights flash by like a kaleidoscope of color as I speed by. In no time at all, I pull into our busiest strip club and park my bike once I find a spot. Turning it off, I look around the parking lot and can’t help but smile at all the cars in the parking lot.

The place is always packed, which means more money lining our pockets.

“You ready?” Kenji asks as he walks toward me.

I remove my helmet as I slide off the bike. The bouncer's eyes widen as we walk toward the entrance, immediately granting us entry.

As we walk by, he talks into his mic, letting the staff know we’re here. Walking up to the bar, the bartender sets two glasses on the bar, filling them with our drink of choice.

“You staying out here?” I ask Kenji as I search the crowd.

“Yeah, it looks like someone needs a little lovin’.” He smirks. I follow his line of sight and see a pretty little thing standing there, looking at him, playing with her straw.

“Don’t get into too much trouble.” I tease, slapping him on the back. “I’ll be in the office.”

“I’ll be in there soon.” He says, making me shake my head.

Somehow,I’ve managed to avoid my father since the meeting with Killian the morning after the fundraiser. That was four days ago.

I thought for sure he would grill me after my date with Kai, but he was suspiciously absent.

Anytime I’ve heard him moving about the house, I slip away, hiding in my room.

When he’s stopped by my room, Callum would deny his entry, making up excuses for me.

It won’t last forever, but I’m enjoying the reprieve.

“Miss Cleo,” Callum calls through the door.

Moving across the room, I open it. “Yes, Callum.”

“Your date with the Italian will be today. It will be at the same café as before.”

I nod. “When do you need me to be ready by?”

“We will leave in an hour.”

I smile up at him. “I’ll be ready in thirty minutes then.”

Thankfully, I’ve already showered, so getting ready is a breeze.
