She rolls her eyes. “Two minutes and not a second more. Don’t push me.”
“I wouldn’t dream of it, babe.”
Turning back to the man, I wait until the door closes before I continue.
“You heard the woman,” I tell the man.
I take the set of needles she bought for me for times like this.
It only takes me a minute to jam two under each nail bed as the man screams his agony. Then I go to the sink in the corner of the room, washing my hands.
The spray of blood on my shirt is going to be a problem, but it’ll have to be okay.
When I step out of the room, my beautiful woman is standing there, waiting with a clean shirt in hand.
“How did you know?”
She rolls her eyes. “I know you, Mr. Takahasi.”
“You know me better than anyone else, Mrs. Takahasi,” I say, making her smile.
Officially, she became Mrs. Takahasi eleven months ago. We had a small, private ceremony in the backyard of one of our homes. No one was present except our preacher, Kenji, Kado, and Akita.
It was the perfect ceremony.
She’s been wearing my ring for almost a year, but we didn’t announce our marriage. Instead, we planned a very public wedding, inviting all the influential families.
Besides, I wanted my baby to get her fairy tale princess wedding, even if she prefers our first one.
“I can’t wait to marry you, again,” I murmur into her neck as I press a kiss to it.
“You won’t get to if we don’t get there. Miss Kelly about lost it when I told her I was leaving to come find you. Now I need to get back and get dressed.”
“Let’s get you back then,” I tell her as I remove my soiled shirt and replace it with the clean one.
I watch as Cleo slides her helmet on, strapping it under her chin. Grabbing mine, I do the same. I slip onto the bike first. Once Cleo is on, I turn the bike on. Cleo wraps her arms around my waist. Then I take off. I made the twenty-minute drive in ten minutes. Once the bike is shut off, I squeeze Cleo’s hands letting her know it’s safe to get off. As she jumps off, I remove my helmet. I slide off the bike as I watch her remove her helmet with a smile on her face.
“Was that fun?” I tease, knowing how much she likes being on the back of the bike.
“Of course it was.” She smiles, leaning into me as I lean down to kiss her.
“Cliona!”
We look up and see Miss Kelly standing there, hands on her hips looking unimpressed.
“Looks like you're in trouble.” I smirk, making Cleo roll her eyes as she pulls away.
“I’ll see you in a little bit?” she asks, biting her lip walking away from me.
“I’ll be the fool in a tux waiting for you at the end of the aisle… again,” I say, making her laugh.
Cleo runs up the steps and into Miss Kelly’s arms. Before they walk into the building Cleo blows me a kiss over her shoulder.
I can’t wait for the world to know she’s mine.
“Why am I so nervous?” I ask Callum as we stand outside the double doors to the chapel.
He’s one of the only people who know we are already married. I confided in him and Killian back when we did it. I wanted Callum to be there but I knew his hands were full trying to clean house from the disaster my father left behind.
