I see the girls standing off to the side, waiting for me. As soon as I get close enough, both girls rush me, giving me a hug.
“Now this is the life. I’m done with this hell hole and I have two beautiful girls with me.”
“You three need to find your seats,” someone chastises.
“Yeah, yeah,” I say as Willow pulls away.
“Let’s sit together, yeah?” Willow says as she scans the crowd, looking for three seats next to each other.
“Can we do that though?” Hailee asks.
“We can do whatever the fuck we want.”
“Over there,” Willow says, pointing to an empty row.
“We’re completely fucking up the seating arrangement.” Hailee shakes her head.
Willow walks into the aisle to take her seat. As Hailee goes to walk by I pull her into my arms again.
“What are you doing?” she asks as she melts into me.
Instead of telling her, I show her. I dip her down and kiss her for everyone to see. Hailee grabs onto the back of my neck, holding me in place, kissing me harder.
“Okay, you two. Time to break it up. We don’t need public indecency charges,” Willow says.
I let Hailee up and let her go. I follow her into the aisle and take a seat next to her.
The rest of graduation goes by in the blink of an eye. The three of us stay sitting as our classmates stand and throw their caps.
“What a cliché,” Willow says, staring at them all like a science experiment.
As soon as we’re dismissed, we make our way to Chase. He stands there in all black with his hands in his pockets, eyes never straying from Willow.
“I love the way he looks at her,” Hailee says as we watch Willow walk into his arms.
“Do you see it?”
“See what?” she asks, looking at me.
I stop and pull her into me. “Do you see that I look at you the same way?”
“Nate…”
“You Hailee Jones are it for me.”
“I like that,” she says sincerely. “So what’s next?”
“What do you want to happen next?” I ask as I brush some hair off of her face.
“I’m not sure.” She bites her lip. “But whatever it is I want to do it with you.”
I lean down and kiss her while holding her face. “Without question,” I tell her between kisses.
I don’t know what will be thrown at us next, but I know whatever it is we will do it together.
