“We will need some privacy,” I tell the men.
The unfamiliar man’s eyes narrow. “Our orders are to not let her out of our sight.”
I chuckle. “You failed already then. Unless you can see through doors.”
He bows up, but thankfully for him, Enzo steps in. “Of course. This is a sensitive issue. We will be at the bar.”
The man goes to argue, but Enzo cuts him a look, shutting him up.
“Great. Greer, leave your cell and grab your laptop.”
She shoots me a glare, grabbing her bag from Enzo.
“I’m not dumb, Kill. I didn’t even bring my cell with me. Did you sweep your office?”
I scoff, “Of course I did.”
“Let’s get to work then.”
I watch the men walk away, grabbing Conor at the last second. “Keep an eye on them and the others. I don’t want anyone near this door. Understood?”
He nods, following the men.
After shutting up in my office, I turn to find Greer sitting behind my desk in my chair.
“That’s the boss’s chair, sweetheart,” I tease.
“Oh good. So I found the right chair then.” She winks.
Her sass knows no end.
“We both know I’m the only one wearing the pants in this relationship.”
She snorts. “If it were up to you, neither one of us would ever wear pants.”
I chuckle. “That’s accurate.”
She blows a wayward strand from her face before meeting my eyes. “Why am I here, Killian?”
Reality sets back in. There’s a reason I wanted Greer specifically, and it had nothing to do with my cock.
“I’m trusting you, Greer. Don’t fuck me over.”
She rolls her eyes at me. “Or what? You’ll kill me?”
I shake my head. “No, but someone would die.”
Her eyes turn grim as she realizes what I’m insinuating. I’d never let her get hurt, but that means I would need to take the punishment for her. I would do so willingly.
“What is it?” she whispers.
Moving closer to her, I move my hand to cup her cheek.
“I have a traitor and I need you to find out who it is.”
“What?” she gasps.
I nod. “I’ve known for a while. I believe there is more than one. Maybe even an entire group of them. I need to sniff them out and teach them a lesson before it gets out of hand. You think a war with your family would be bad? Try a civil war. Never knowing if the man next to you is friend or foe.”
