Chase leans in closer. “Oh yeah? Why not?”

“He’s huge. There’s not one person here who would stand a chance.”

“Are you saying you don’t think I could?”

Nate chuckles from next to us. “That sounds like a challenge, Rock.”

“I didn’t say that, but well, I guess I am now. He has several inches on you and he looks roided out.”

Chase laughs. “You have such little faith in me?”

I roll my eyes. “Not like you would ever actually be dumb enough to step in the ring to find out.”

His smile grows. “All right.”

“What?” I ask as he pulls his shirt over his head, handing it to me. Then he pulls his phone, a wallet, and a set of keys from his pocket, passing them over too.

“Hold these.” He winks at me before taking off into the crowd. When they see who is coming, they part like the Red Sea.

“Hey, big guy,” he calls out, grabbing the bigger guy’s attention.

“Rocky, what a surprise.” The man smiles a wicked smile.

“Yeah, well, my girl over there requested I hand you your ass, so how about it? You down?”

“I’m always down. I think it will be me handing you your ass though,” he says smugly.

There’s a flurry of movement and noise throughout the room. Soon, the two circles become one, everyone gathering around to watch this fight.

“What the hell is he doing, Nate? Is he crazy?” My gaze jumping between the brothers.

Nate chuckles. “Hell yeah, he is.”

I strain on my tiptoes, trying to see over the people who have now crowded in front of me.

Nate shakes his head. “Come on short stuff. Let’s get you a view.”

He moves closer before bending down. Before I can question him, he wraps my legs around his neck, letting me sit on his shoulders.

“What the fuck,” I yell out, digging my nails into his shoulders, trying to find my balance.

“Chill. I was going to put you up front, but Rocky would kill me if you ended up hurt. This is the next best option. Now sit still. I don’t want to drop you.”

I sigh, my eyes focusing on the scene before me. Neither has made a move to attack yet, but they are circling each other.

“Come on, big guy,” Chase taunts. “You afraid to make the first move?”

The man clenches his jaw but continues to circle Chase.

“Rumor has it that’s why your last relationship failed. Christi didn’t like having to do all the work.”

Before he can get the words out of his mouth, the behemoth lunges like an enraged bull.

I can’t help but flinch. My heart starts to race as my body tenses. I struggle to take a breath in as they continue to dance around one another.

Chase easily sidesteps him, snapping a lightning-fast jab to the man’s kidneys. With surprising speed for a man of his size, his opponent manages to land a blow to Chase’s face.

I stop breathing as Chase rocks back, going with the momentum of the blow.
