“Oh, I will, it’s only a matter of time.” He smirks over his shoulder. “I’ll be back.”

I watch him walk out of the room and I fall back onto the bed.

“Holy shit,” I mumble to myself.

Eleven

Today is just like yesterday.Wake up, go to school, come back here. Rinse and repeat. Nate talks about who-knows-what as we walk into the house, as I’m lost in my own head.

Half of me wants to go back to yesterday and punch Chase in the nose while the other half wants to grab his face and kiss him into tomorrow. All day my head has spun with thoughts of him and it’s driving me mad. He’s just proving my point that guys are distractions.

“Hey,” I hear a voice call out from the kitchen.

Nate stops talking mid-sentence and turns into the kitchen. “What are you doing?”

“Making dinner.”

I come up behind Nate and see Chase standing at the counter chopping up some vegetables.

“What are you making?” Nate asks as we walk into the kitchen.

“Roasted potatoes and veggies with some balsamic glazed chicken,” Chase says, making Nate groan.

“Mom’s recipe?”

“Mom’s recipe,” Chase confirms.

“Awesome, I’m going to go drop my bag and relax for a bit.”

“I’ll call you when it’s ready,” Chase says to a retreating Nate.

I wait until I hear Nate’s door close and step up to the counter. “You cook?”

“Do I know how? Yes. Do I do it often? No.”

“Huh.” I bite my lip as I watch him move effortlessly around the kitchen.

“What, never seen a guy cook before?” he teases.

“Honestly, no.” I shake my head.

I watch as Chase cringes. “Shit, Willow.”

“I’m going to go take a shower. Let me know when it’s ready.” I turn, walking out of the kitchen.

“Willow,” Chase calls behind me but I ignore him. Stepping into my room, I drop my bag and kick off my shoes. Walking into the bathroom, I turn on the shower and strip as I let it heat up. Once naked, I stare at myself as I brush through my hair to remove any tangles.

Since I’ve been here, my boobs have filled out more and the curve of my waist is more pronounced. The room starts to fill with steam as I step into the shower. The hot water hits my back, making me groan. I don’t care who you are, there is nothing better than a shower so hot you feel like you’re in hell. I take my time washing my hair before I move on to shaving and washing my body. Once I’m silky smooth and smelling of vanilla, I step out and wrap the towel around me.

“Fuck,” I curse, realizing I forgot to bring a change of clothes into the bathroom with me. I tighten the towel as tight as I can and tuck my dirty clothes under one arm. Taking a deep breath, I swing the door open only to stumble back. Chase is standing in front of me, fist raised as if he was about to knock.

“What?” I snap as his eyes devour me.

“Dinner’s ready,” he rasps.

“Mind getting out of the way so I can get dressed before it gets cold?” I snark, raising a brow.

Chase barely steps to the side, making me graze him as I walk by. I shut the bedroom door and lean against it.
