After regaining my sanity, I make the call.

“Meghan.”

“Hey, big boy. What’s wrong?” she answers.

“Bobby’s out. He found me. He brought people.”

“Shit.”

“I need a place to stay and to make some good money. Fast. Before Bobby goes after anyone other than me.”

I glare at Charlotte. Her big eyes are glassy as she whispers, “Place to stay?”

Meghan purrs. “Then you better get on camera, handsome. You know what my fans want.”

Chapter 16

Grayson

“Damn! This is Meghan’s place?” Killian says, gawking out the windshield at the sprawling mansion.

“Mm-hm,” I reply, unimpressed.

Just a house. Big and empty. Built from sin.

I kill the engine and grip the wheel. I didn’t want to come back here.

Now? It’s home, at least until I fix things with Bobby.

I hop out and head for the bed of the truck to grab my bag—

I freeze when something shiny catches my eye.

A sword hilt. A guy and Charlotte... Both of them just laying there.

“What the fuck?” I say under my breath.

Atticus pops up first, holding out my duffel bag like it’s a gift. “Heavy,” he says, pointing at a red spot on his forehead.

Charlotte scrambles up, rubbing her elbow, cheeks pink. “Hi... I just wanted to see where you were moving to. And... meet Meghan.”

“Damn, bruh,” Killian taunts in awe. “Piggy wants to eat you for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.”

I grit my teeth. “Clearly.”

My phone buzzes in my pocket. Fuck. Brax.

I answer, blurting out, “They hid in the bed of my truck.”

Brax grumbles, “Why?”

I glare at Charlotte, who’s now standing there like some lost little princess trying to hide how badly she wants to be near me.

“Because she’sobsessed,” I mutter, but even as I say it, the words taste wrong. Too close to the truth.

“And Atticus...” I trail off, eyeing his headphones slung on his neck, the black cloak, and his sword strapped to his hip.

“To protect my sister,” Atticus says proudly, his chin high.
