Reed glances at Ozzie, then back to me. “Coff, can I talk to you privately?”

The last thing I want is to get a lecture, but if it gets me some breathing room right now, I’ll take it.

“Sure,” I say.

He nods for me to follow him, and we step outside the room into the hallway. Once the room door closes, he stares at me. I swear his eyes are getting glassy.

“What’s going on?” I ask.

His brow furrows. “Your brother did something more. And I want to talk to you about it.”

I turn my back to him. “He’s sending her to another country, isn’t he?”

“No, it’s about you.”

Well, that has my attention. I spin back around. “Me?”

Reed nods. “Brian said you’re a wreck without Delaney in your life. And I can’t say I disagree after what I’ve seen these last two months.”

My heart is pounding loudly. Did my brother get me fired?

“When he put in the request for Delaney, he put in a request for you as well.” He takes another white envelope out of the bag and holds it up. “If you want it.”

I’m not sure I heard him right. “What? He can do that?”

Reed shrugs. “He knows the right people. If you want to, you can go with Delaney.”

“Go with her? You mean change my identity?”

Reed nods.

Give up everything for her. Hell, that’s what I was asking her to do for me, wasn’t it? When I asked her to move to Virginia, then years later to New York?

“But what would I do? For work.”

Reed smiles. “Well, you’re in luck because if you choose this route, I have a job lined up for you.”

I run my hands through my hair. If I choose it. I have to choose it. She’s everything to me. But then I wouldn’t see the guys again. Ozzie. Reed.

“Look at the details before you decide.” Reed hands me the envelope, then leaves me alone outside.

I open it and read through everything twice. It says my name is Matthew Hill. My residence is east of Seattle, and I’m employed by Morgan Thompson Security. What? I can transfer to Stormy’s other team? Yes, I would be leaving my current job behind, but the two groups work together from time to time, so it’s not like I would never see them again.

I run into the room to Reed. “Morgan Thompson? How?”

Reed smiles. “I talked to Stormy and Cowboy about it. We all agreed that it could work. The guys would all be discreet.”

“What’s he talking about? Are you leaving RHS?” Ozzie asks.

Delaney glances up from the bed.

“Seattle?” I ask her.

She nods as she stands up.

“Brian had a similar envelope for me,” I say. “What do you say? Want to go to Seattle with me?”

Her entire face lights up as she runs into my arms. I pick her up and spin her around.
