He twirls my hair around his fingers. “Me too.”

My head is resting on his chest, and I snuggle into him.

“Where did you drive from? You said it was long,” he asks.

I sit up a little so I can see his eyes. “Missoula.”

“Oh, wow. That’s not close.”

I settle back onto his chest. “I wasn’t sure about coming. I was worried I’d find out you had a new girlfriend.”

He moves his hand and runs it down my back. “I haven’t so much as looked at another woman since you. I can’t stop thinking about you.”

“It’s the same for me, too.” I trace the ridges of his stomach. “Do you think they’d let me move to New York?

His heart rate picks up at my question.

“I don’t know. We could always ask Brian.” He sighs.

“What’s wrong?”

He leans up and kisses my forehead. “I’m pretty sure I was being followed shortly after I got back. That concerns me. But maybe with the time that’s passed, whoever was watching me gave up.”

“I don’t like Missoula. I’m not sure why your brother would think a Southern California girl would fit in there.”

He laughs. “Well, that’s probably why it was chosen. Who would expect you to live somewhere cold?”

I shrug and then settle in, enjoying his touch.

A phone ringing startles me, and I realize I fell asleep again. I sit up, and Logan is rubbing his eyes. Then he gets up and grabs his pants. He pulls his phone from his pocket.

“It’s my brother.” He puts the phone to his ear. “Brian, what’s going on?”

Brian is talking loud and fast, and I can almost make out the words from several feet away.

“Slow down. No, they didn’t find her.” He looks at me. “Because I’m with her now.”

Then he holds the phone away from his ear as his brother yells. I do catch a few choice names.

Logan puts the phone back to his ear. “Are you calm now?” He grins at me. “Good. Now, she came to me.” He pauses as Brian yells something more. “Why do you think?” Logan asks, then holds the phone away again as Brian yells.

Once the line goes silent, Logan puts it back to his ear. “Why not have her move to New York?” he asks.

While he’s focused on the phone call, I take the opportunity to stare at him. He’s standing in the middle of the room naked, holding a phone. He’s the sexiest man I’ve ever known, with a body sculpted to perfection. And he has a full beard, unlike when we first met. I was never a fan of beards, but somehow, it looks right on him.

“Okay, I’ll call you back.” Logan ends the call. “You know, it’s really hard talking to my brother with you ogling me like that.”

I stand up and walk to him. “Is that so?”

“It is.” He bends down and kisses me, then stands straight again. “But we have to go. Apparently, the FBI has an informant who alerted Brian that someone was watching for you in New York, and they reported that we left RHS together.”

He grabs his shirt and pants and puts them on. I do the same.

“You think we were followed here?”

He sighs. “Not that I noticed, but I’ll be honest, I let myself get a bit distracted.”

“Okay, but if we were followed, someone could be waiting outside your door.”
