And he did! He kissed the ever-loving hell out of my mouth.

I nearly swooned. He was so fucking delicious! Years of fantasies fulfilled!

Then he vanished back into baseball.

And I became a local celebrity of sorts.

A video compilation went viral.

My shocked face with my subsequent duck and soaking. My victorious shout equal to Johnny Bravo's. And Blaze standing entirely too close to me, then shoving his tongue down my throat. The last frame was a picture of the four of us hugged up tight, grinning. Jenny displaying her engagement ring, and me showing off the autographed foul ball.

Blaze's arm draped comfortably over my shoulder, and mine holding onto his waist for dear life.

The title was "The Play of the Day Wasn't on the Field, Folks,"

Of the four million views on YouTube, I'm guilty of three million of them.

ChapterTwo

Blaze Malone

Stretching before I follow Mooky Duke, the orphaned foal I've been bottle feeding for the past three weeks, into the front pasture for our afternoon sprint, I wonder when the wedding planner is going to contact me.

It's been a week since Brandon called and told me about the fire at the wedding venue Jenny had booked. Of course, I immediately stepped up and offered my ranch.

"Bro, no worries. Y'all can use my place. It's rustic but beautiful here."

"Rustic? How rustic?"

"Not too rustic." I laughed. "There's electricity and plumbing."

"How far away from civilization are you?" He asked, unable to conceal his concern laced with fear in his voice.

"Thirty miles from Billings."

"Oh," he sighed, relieved. "That's not too far."

"Nope, far enough away for privacy but close enough to civilization."

"Okay, I'll let Jenny know. Thanks, little brother!"

"Of course!"

He called back the next day and told me the wedding planner would be in touch soon.

"Great. Cell service can be spotty out here. If I don't respond immediately to their calls or text, I'll get back to them as soon as possible."

He chuckled, "Perfect."

Summer

A rock momentarily catches in the wheel of one of my suitcases and jerks me back to reality from my memory of Blaze's mouth on mine. I readjust the luggage, then turn to finish my hike. It's a short distance now to the shade of the trees, and hopefully, civilization is just past.

It's hot, and I'm tired, and I have no idea what my accommodations are other than Jenny saying, "It's a hideaway vacation home."

"So, is it a bed and breakfast then?"

"I don't know." Her fingernail found her teeth.
