Chapter Eleven
Zane
There aretwo sheriff cruisers and another car in the parking lot of Blakes when Batman and I walk back across the common area of the apartment building across the street. Four uniforms and one suit are standing in-between them, talking.
Before we cross the street, the two cruisers pull out of the lot to return to duty. Batman and I walk over and the suit greets us. “I’m Detective Sanchez.”
“Zach Lochart.”
We shake hands and he says, “Lucky, you were here.”
“Yeah,” I agree. “Right place. Right time.” I glance over his shoulder. Laura is waiting just inside the door with Blake.
I give him my statement and he takes notes, then he shakes my hand again. "I won’t keep you any longer." He nods toward the restaurant. "It looks like you’re going to have a Merry Christmas. I recognize her from Been Jammin’."
“It’s been an exciting date so far.” I grin. “Merry Christmas to you and your family.”
He gets in his car, and I watch him pull out, then I turn to the restaurant. Laura has come outside and is leaning against her car, waiting for me.
She looks absolutely breathtaking with her feet arched high in a pair of platform stiletto’s. Her long legs crossed at the ankles. Her toned tummy exposed by her low rise, skinny jeans. Her arms folded under her breasts with her long curls resting on top. And her deep cleavage enticingly exposed. I am halfway to her when Blake comes out of the restaurant. He waves, then turns around and locks the door.
I wait for him, not wanting to reunite with Laura until we are alone.
"Zane! Dude!” He hurries over, and wraps me up in a quick bear hug, patting me hard on the back. When he releases me, he says, “I don’t know what to say.”
I shake my head, "You don’t need to say anything.”
"Thank you seems so trivial right now.”
I smirk, “I was just doing my job."
“Man!” He shakes his head. “It’s one thing to know the police have your back, but it’s altogether different when you experience it.”
“I’m glad I was here.”
“Christ Jesus, I am too.” He nods, then he leans over and pats Batman’s head. “Laura has your to go order, and just so you know, you two get free pizza and hambones for life!”
I chuckle at that. He sticks his hand out for me to shake, and says with such sincerity, his voice tremors. “I’m off to celebrate with my family. Merry Christmas, Zane."
I nod. "Yeah, man. You too." He waves to Laura, then goes over to his delivery van, gets in, and drives away.
I turn my attention back to Laura. I smile at her, and she returns it. She pushes off the car. Her eyes glued to mine. I can see both adoration and desire on her face. Soon she will be expressing both to my body, and my cock hardens.
But knowing she carries handcuffs can only mean one thing. She is into BDSM and that has to be addressed upfront.
I look down at Batman. “Load up.” He takes off for the truck and easily clears the side of the bed. It’s a treat to get to ride in back. He’ll stay right there until I make him get out.
As she approaches, her upturned face searches mine, and I stare intently into her eyes. After the way she seduced me so successfully in The Forum, she is definitely a skilled seductress, and obviously, used to the one being in control. But I can’t play that game. I am an alpha, through and through. She needs to understand that up front.
When she stops, I don’t reach for her. I want her to feel the depth of how I care about her. This is the real deal for me. Not some game or a BDSM scene. She must comprehend and except that and what I expect from her. Submission.
Towering over her, staring into those caramel-colored eyes, I ask her to be mine. To trust me. But I don’t say a single word.
Watching her as she reads my body language and wraps her head around what a relationship with me will mean, I feel more alive that I have ever felt before. She is a strong alpha female used to dominating inferior men, but I don’t fall into that category. I am a Navy SEAL and a Law Enforcement Officer. I will be the dominant in our relationship or there won’t be a relationship.
The air between us becomes alive, electric, as our chemistry battles for position.
“Hmm,” she says, as she slowly walks around me, looking me up and down like a lioness stalking her prey. “So that’s how this is going to go down?”
