“I think so. Taggert has a great program, and he said he’ll stick around to help me get situated.”
“Then you should take it. You should know I’m going to be at every home game cheering you on.”
“I’d love that, Bay.”
I start to kiss her again, but she pulls back. “Mav, I’m filthy. I haven’t showered since the day before last.”
I lift a brow. “Think we can fit in the shower together?”
We turn to look at the tiny bathroom. How the hell did my brother live in this camper? “I’m not sure, but I’m willing to try. It’ll be a tight fit.”
Biting her neck, I squeeze her close. “I love a tight fit.”

BAYLEE
After I checkon Leo and set up the monitor, I turn to Mav. “I know we’re only ten feet away from him, but I’m a little paranoid now.”
“Understandable.” He heads to the entrance and flips on the lock. “I want to do whatever you need to feel safe.”
He stalks closer and pulls me to him. I close my eyes. “I feel terrible for cancelling that security company. When I asked that guy what it would cost and he told me the amount, I nearly had a stroke, and I?—”
“Babe, I was going to cover it. I never would’ve put that on you.”
I lean my head against his chest. “It was so much money, Maverick. We had broken up, and I kept hearing Lorraine’s words in my head, that I was saddling you with my problems.”
He gently strokes my back. “I just wanted to make sure you guys were safe. I didn’t care how much that cost.”
I nod and squeeze him tighter. “Thank you for looking out for us. I don’t want to be so stubborn, not if that will jeopardize Leo’s safety.”
“Or yours. I meant what I said today. You’re my whole heart, Bay. Nothing is more important than you and Leo. And for the record, I was never gonna let you go.”
I smile up at him. “I love you, Mav. Welcome home.”
“Love you too, peach.”
“Want to clean up?”
He winks. “Only if we can get dirty too.”
I laugh and reach into the small bathroom and turn on the water. “We’d better hurry before the hot water runs cold.” Beau has a larger water heater, but I think we’re going to test its limits.
We get naked in record time. I’m tempted to feel insecure about my body, but then I see the way Mav’s looking at me and realize for a woman who had a baby last winter, I look pretty damn good.
Then I take a good long look at my boyfriend and swoon. His hair is shaggy, his beard scruffy, and his body a study of the perfect male anatomy. And he’s apparentlyveryhappy to see me.
“Darlin’, if you keep looking at me like that, we’re not gonna get cleaned up.”
Right. Shower.
We jump in, and he grabs me from behind. “I missed you so fucking much when I was gone.”
I turn in his arms. “I was miserable, Mav. Let’s never argue like that again. I was devastated when I woke up and you were gone.”
“I’m sorry. I know that was an asshole move. I regretted it.” He kisses me, soft and sweet. “I got you something to make amends. Well, it’s for us, but Rhett’s always telling me I need to show you how I feel with my actions. So I did a thing.”
“A thing, huh?”
