“You want to test my willpower?”
I want you to be a hundred percent sure before diving headfirst into something you might not really want.
“You’re a fine one, Mr. Quinn.”
“In a good way, or in a sarcastic way?”
He presses himself against me there, in the middle of the market, in one of Howth’s busiest streets. His erection is as hard as marble, leaving no room for misinterpretation.
“You’re a fine one, too,” I respond, embarrassed by my own erection.
Eric smiles, slowly letting me go.
“It’ll be a long day.”
It really will.
“I’d like to test your willpower, too.”
“I don’t doubt that.”
“Will we keep going?”
“With the food shopping? Or with this game?”
“Both.”
I nod and smile. “Granted.”

IHEAD OVER to Sean, who’s diligently chopping cabbages for the coleslaw.
“Is this okay?” he asks, concerned.
“Perfect.”
“I don’t want to mess it up. I know how much you like things to be just right.”
“And how would you know that?”
He looks at me. “It’s easy to tell how much you love what you do. It’s part of you.”
“How did you manage to get all that, exactly?”
“Watching, listening…” His eyes move back to the vegetables, grabbing the knife again; but my hand brushes against his before he can start chopping. His gaze catches onto mine, and I have to gather all the strength in my body to fight the urge to grab his face and kiss away the words from his mouth.
“Thank you.”
“What for?”
“For being here, for helping me, for… For putting up with me for twenty days.”
His eyes grow nostalgic, echoing my own thoughts.
“It’s gone so quickly.”
“Yeah.”
