“It’s not that,” I sighed. “Sorry. I didn’t mean to be rude… again. I just never understood why people with money had others do everything for them.”
“Never thought about that,” he stated, looking down at me. “It’s just the way I was raised. Does it make me less of a man since I have a chef to cook for me and a maid to clean up after me?”
“No,” I shook my head. “It’s not that. You’re definitely all man.” I leaned my head against his chest and laughed.
“Is that so?” he whispered against the top of my head.
“Definitely,” I giggled.
“Want me to show you that I know how to work a sponge?”
“Yes. I would love to see that actually.” I stepped out of his hold and gestured to the sink. He smirked and shook his head. “No?”
“A different sponge,” he grinned and then picked me up over his shoulder.
“Gerald!” I shrieked and playfully whacked his back as he carried me through his apartment. He didn’t say anything. He just chuckled and kept walking until we arrived at the master bathroom.
“You said you wanted to see me work a sponge,” he said, setting me down.
“That’s not the sponge I meant,” I sighed, dramatically.
“Ah. Forgive me for misleading you,” he grinned cockily.
“Uh huh. I’m sure.” I rolled my eyes and laughed.
Gerald opened the glass door to the large shower. He grabbed two towels from the basket of towels on the bathroom counter. He laid one, still rolled up, on the far side away from the water. The second towel, he laid out on the shower floor. It looked like he had made a bed out of towels.
“Dare I ask?” My eyebrow rose as I continued staring at Gerald’s creation. Gerald turned and grinned.
“Worried, Kaylee?” he teased huskily.
I swallowed hard before answering.
“No… Gerald.”
“Good,” he chuckled and then turned on the water. The water sprayed from different showerheads. While he adjusted the water temperature, I watched the water rush out of each showerhead. It reminded me of a waterpark. I stared in amazement.
You’re a hillbilly, Kaylee,I groaned to myself because I was excited about multiple showerheads.
“What’s wrong?” Gerald walked over to me. He held my hand and looked down at me. “Are you okay?”
“Yes,” I nodded. “Just feel like a true hillbilly.” My eyes lowered to the ground. I stared at our feet. Wasn’t exactly my ideal view, but it beat Gerald seeing my embarrassment.
“Kaylee.” Gerald let out a heavy sigh before placing his finger under my chin and lifting my head up. He smiled when our eyes met. “Forget about anything else and just let me take care of you. Will you do that for me?”
The husky, luring tone in his voice was back. The tone that called to the wanton side of me. The tone that hazed my logical thinking. The tone that made me want to just live in the moment.
“Yes, sir,” I whispered.
“There’s my girl,” he smirked and kissed me gently on my lips. “Feel the water for me.”
I didn’t reply. I just did as he said and stuck my hand under the multiple streams of water that met at one point.
The water was not too cold but not hot enough to my liking.
“Feel okay?” Gerald asked, wrapping his arm around my waist and pressing my back against his chest.
“Do you like this temper…”
