“You like uncertainty, is that it?”

Silencing me with a kiss, he presses his hard body up against mine, and the lockers rattle behind us as he proceeds to devour me in front of the passing students.

“Maybe,” he admits, flashing a mischievous smile.

Just then, one of his friends claps him on the shoulder. “Get a room, dude.”

With a deep, smug chuckle, Jaxon steps back. “Sup, Carter?”

They do a weird handshake while I fight the rising panic inside me. I need to escape. They’re preoccupied, so I walk off and hurry down the hallway, trying doors until I find one that opens.

I sneak inside, then pause. My hand flies up to my mouth as I stare wide-eyed at Melanie, who’s tongue deep in a girl’s pussy.

Stepping back, I accidentally kick a stray plastic bottle on the floor.

Melanie’s head flies up, and the girl scrambles from the desk and hurriedly pulls up her jeans. She scurries past me while Melanie and I continue staring at each other across this ocean of hurt. Why am I so upset? I never knew she had the power to destroy me like this.

“You’re not into girls, huh?” I breathe out, unable to hide the quiver in my voice. “Or is it just me you’re not into?”

She grits her teeth and looks away, then flinches when I scream, “ANSWER ME!”

Gutting me with her glare, she sneers, “I’m not into you. Is that what you want to hear? You mean nothing to me!”

I stagger back, clutching my aching chest. I’m bleeding emotions that leave scarlet footprints on the dirty floor. My back connects with the door, and I look away from the pain in her eyes. “You’ve ruined me.”

She says nothing while I angrily swipe at my cheeks.

“I had the lid firmly pressed down on these damn emotions before Norway. Now I can’t bottle them again.” I look away from the windows and stare at her for the longest moment. “You have nothing to say?”

A muscle tics in her cheek when she slowly lifts her gaze to look at me. “You should go back to Jaxon.”

“The fuck I should!” I kill the distance between us and throw her back against the teacher’s desk. “You’re a coward, sis!Tell me, did she taste good? Did you like how her pussy gripped your fingers?”

She shoves me right back. “I did! I fucking loved it.”

I stare unblinkingly at her, then release a shaky breath, my eyelashes fluttering. “You’re saying that to hurt me.”

“What do you think this is?” she growls, gesturing between us. “We’re not a couple. We’re nothing.”

“And you’re still hiding in the fucking closet,” I spit, “too scared to disappoint your daddy.”

She pushes me with enough force to make me fall to the floor. The pain barely registers. Her eyes flick down to my exposed lace panties, where my skirt lies pooled around my waist.

“We’re nothing, huh?” I taunt, spreading my legs. “Is that why you can’t look away?”

Ocean blue eyes clash with mine before skating back down to my panties. I’m tempted to slide them aside to show her what the fuck she’s missing, but she lost the right to touch me when she fucked that girl.

Instead, I close my legs and climb to my feet. “You win. Clearly, you don’t want me, and you’re too fucking scared to ruffle feathers. You’d rather sneak around with some random girl here at school.” My head shakes, and I stare at her through blurry tears. “So much for not caring about what anyone thinks of you. I had you all wrong. It’s fine, I get it. I hope you can sleep tonight when Jaxon fucks me all night long.”

Striding out, I slam the door shut behind me. Tears threaten to fall, but I refuse to let them. Not after she hurt me like that.

The door flies open behind me, and she comes running out into the hallway, shouting, “Jessica.”

Ignoring her, I quicken my pace.

“Jessica!”

I flip her off over my shoulder before disappearing around the corner. I don’t want to hear her fucking excuses. They mean nothing to me.
