Wilde finally averted his gaze elsewhere, and I released a breath that I didn’t even know I was holding. When I turned toface KoKo, she had a knowing smirk on her face. “Ummhmmm,” she hummed while sucking down the rest of her drink.

I didn’t speak because what was I supposed to say? I hadn’t even told her we had sex because I was borderline ashamed that I gave in to him after he blackmailed me. Since finding out about her and Pierre, I didn’t feel too bad because I wasn’t the only one keeping secrets, apparently. I sipped my drink and watched KoKo steal glances at Pierre, who to my knowledge, hadn’t even spoken to her. I assumed since the cat was out of the bag, and Nina knew about them, he wanted to keep his distance from KoKo.

I ordered another drink and KoKo did the same. We talked about possibly planning a trip all while I tried to pretend that Wilde wasn’t sitting directly behind me.

“This what we do now?” I heard a female voice very close to me, and I already knew she was at Wilde’s booth. “I tell you I have a doctor’s appointment, and you don’t even respond? You don’t have to be as much of an asshole as you are.” The female sounded pissed and disappointed. I was itching to know who she was talking to because she was met with silence.

“And now you’re just going to ignore me still? You’re childish as hell. Please don’t flatter yourself and think that I just want to haveyourbaby. I’m not using abortion as a form of birth control. We knew what we were doing when we had unprotected sex, Wilde. You can ignore me all you want, but I’m having this baby.” My heart slammed into my rib cage. Wilde had a baby on the way.

“I’m gon’ ignore that muhfucka, too,” he responded, and KoKo and I looked at each other with wide eyes. No he didn’t just say that.

Even though I didn’t like the fact that he had a baby on the way, hearing him admit that he planned to be a deadbeat was disheartening. I couldn’t respect any man that chose not to takecare of his children or be involved in their lives. I didn’t care who he was.

“You really are a piece of shit ass nigga.” A female stormed past our booth, and I could only see her from behind.

“That was interesting,” KoKo stated in a low tone.

I tried to change the subject and go back to acting normal, but my thoughts were all over the place. So what if Wilde and I had sex a few times? We were far from serious, and I shouldn’t care at all about him having another woman pregnant. KoKo and I were waiting on the bill when Wilde, Pierre, and Jamal walked out of the restaurant. He didn’t even say goodbye. Yet another thing that I shouldn’t care about but for some reason, I did.

KoKo and I exited the restaurant, and some guys standing in front of the building called out to us. I barely had time to lift my head before I heard, “You better not, G. Come here!”

My head whipped in the opposite direction, and I peeped Jamal and Pierre laughing while Wilde was glaring at me like he dared me to talk to another man. They were leaning against a red Jaguar, and I wasn’t sure who it belonged to. I had seen Wilde drive a few different cars. I walked in his direction, attempting to appear annoyed.

“Boy, you have some nerve,” I stated, looking up at him. “Isn’t your baby mama around here somewhere lurking?”

“Fuck that bitch,” he sucked his teeth and wrapped his arms around me. “Niggas still think you mine,” his tone was low. “I wish you would embarrass me by talking to another man in my face. You have to wait until I publicly diss you.”

I chuckled. “Picture that shit happening. Don’t even play with me,G.”

A cocky grin inched across his face. “You know you got ‘em gone when they using your lingo.”

“Please get off of me,” I laughed lightly, shaking my head.

“Where you about to go?” Wilde’s arms remained around my body.

“Probably a hookah lounge or something. Why?” I angled my head to the right. His grills were in his mouth, and it made no sense how sexy that man was. I loved it when he let his curls hang free.

“You got an hour and a half. I’ll meet you at your crib.” He removed his arms.

“You swear you run some shit,” I frowned.

“I do.” Wilde pulled a wad of money out of his pocket and passed me two-hundred-dollar bills. Rather than saying thank you, I continued to talk shit.

“You don’t run nothing over here,G.”

I turned and walked away, knowing that I would be leaving the hookah spot in an hour and a half.

Isat on the edge of Wonder’s bed, rolling a blunt. My ass was already faded, but I was about to smoke one last blunt and straight murder her pussy. She sat Indian style at the head of the bed watching me.

“You never told me why you don’t have kids,” I licked the cigar paper to seal it.

“I didn’t tell you it wasn’t any of your business?” she asked in a fake preppy tone.

I recalled that she did get kind of snappy about it, so I was about to leave it alone when she replied.

“I was pregnant by Drew three times. I had three miscarriages. End of story.”

I could tell it bothered her, so I made a mental note not to bring it up again. I pulled a lighter from my pocket while staring at her. “You didn’t want to have that funny looking nigga’s kids anyway. Ugly, lying bastard,” I frowned, and she shook her head.
