Highlander pulled Laura in for a soft, sweet kiss as he chuckled against her lips. “We’ve got this my bonnie lass. I promise. If they bitch like little girls, I’ll just make them do extra pt when we get back to base.” Highlander winked at Laura, smirking.

“What’s pee tee daddy?” Ryleigh asked her father, climbing up into his lap.

“It’s P.T., love. It’s where daddy and ye uncles have to exercise really hard every day during the week before we go to work.” Highlander answered his daughter, kissing the top of her little head.

“Rather it’s where your dad beats our a…tush in running, making us do push-ups and a crap load of heavy-duty stuff to make us stinky and sweaty.” Joker responded, making faces at Ryleigh behind her dad’s back.

“You are always stinky Unca J.” Ryleigh giggled, hiding in her daddy’s chest.

Everyone laughed while Joker sat there stunned at little Ryleigh’s statement. “Wow, the J man stunned into silence by a kid. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that.” Snake joked, patting Joker on the back.

“Hell, I didn’t think it was possible with his mouth.” Diesel laughed, smacking her thigh.

“You’re not far behind either chica!” York fired back, winking at the little girl.

“Mommy”

“Yes Ry Ry”

“When are Unca J and Aunty Diez getting married?’

Several adults coughed into their fists as they hid their laughter before looking at the two people in question.

“I dunno lil Ryleigh. I keep asking Aunty Diez, but, alas, she keeps breaking my heart.” Joker laughed, grinning and winking at Diesel who flipped him the bird.

“Sorry kiddo! That’s never going to happen. I’m not into little boys. I only prefer men!” Diesel said, getting up from the table. “Why the hell am I explaining this shit to a kid?”

“Language ma’dam!” Joker quipped, emphasizing on the ‘d’.

“Okay children! Knock it off!” Laura said as she stood up. “Hank, I assume you boys want to gather so you can talk about camping, so I guess us gals can go into the parlor and do what we do best.”

“And what would that be love?” Highlander asked Laura, an eyebrow quirked as he smirked over at his wife.

“Talk shit about you boys!”

The room erupted in laughter at Laura’s straight-faced reply, as she looked over at Highlander and batted her eye lashes at him.

Laura, Sadie and Allie kissed their men, gathered the dishes, clearing the table before they escaped to the living room with little Ryleigh and Emma. While the men finished their planning for the camping trip they were leaving on first thing in the morning, the women sat in the living room, catching up on what’s been going on in their lives since the last time they all spoke the week before.

“I heard from Gypsy the other day. Lucky bitch is on site with the new movie in Greece instead of being here like planned.” Laura smiled, remembering the woman that the team had rescued several years ago, who was now married to one of the men who worked for Hank.

“Yeah, she’s loving the location. I literally had to get Hank to help me talk her into taking the job. She didn’t want to leave Elmo for the length of time that she would have to be on site for the job.” Sadie smiled over at Laura, shaking her head, as she fed baby McClain.

“Isn’t she pregnant with their first baby?” York asked, in wonder.

“Yes! It’s a tossup who’s more ecstatic and who’s more worried. Hank had to literally wait until Elmo was done with his rant about Gypsy going to Greece to let the man know he could take the time and go with Gypsy. Hank literally, and I meanliterally, burst into laughter when Elmo left the room to inform Gypsy he was going to Greece with her.”

“What is it with these alpha men and their first pregnancies?” Laura laughed, rubbing her belly as she shook her head.

“They are out of their element!” Sadie answered, without hesitation. “Yeah, we’re scared too. We’re more calm with it. For these men, all they know is fighting, taking out bad guys, protecting those they love. Pregnancy scares the living hell out of them.”

“Red here should know that more than anyone!” Diesel chuckled, ducking when Laura threw a pillow at her head.

“How’s this pregnancy going so far?” Allie asked Laura, smirking at the banter between the women.

“Well, she’s definitely getting laid more!” Diesel laughed, causing the others to chuckle.

Laura laughed as she flipped Diesel off behind Ryleigh’s back. “She’s telling the truth though. This time he’s more relaxed than he was with the twin’s pregnancy. As Diesel said, definitely not afraid to ‘put out’ like he was the last pregnancy.”
