“Hey slow down damn it. I have short legs. I have mercy on the baby sister!” Shane said as she got closer to Pratt.
“What do you want Shane?” Pratt yelled back, not slowing down.
“I want to talk with you. Stop moving damn it! Sheesh!”
Pratt stopped, huffed heavily and then turned around. “What do you want?”
“Well, for you to stop for one, so thank you for doing that. Second, you’re not the one who kidnapped Tina or Dakota so what happened to them is not your fault.” Shane huffed out as she bent over, trying to catch her breathe.
“Seriously? You’re SDPD, you run every day and you’re out of breath trying to catch up with me?” Pratt laughed, looking at her younger sister bent over.
“Bite me bitch, I had a big breakfast.” Shane laughed back at her sister.
“Sorry for bitching a bitch. Just knowing it’s Jennifer and the fact that Arrow could be back in town, going after Tina and Dakota, it bothers me. Makes me wonder if they found out about their relationship to us and targeted them or if these two were just someone they could have picked at random.”
“Guess we’ll find out. Pattrick just text me, Tex has some information from the girls electronics.” Shane commented a she put her phone back in her pocket.
“Let’s find the girls!” Pratt strongly said, determined.
Chapter 10
Shane and Pratt walked back into the conference room, arm in arm, only separating once they walked through the door, going to their husband’s side as they listened in on what Tex as telling the room from Wolf’s phone. The entire room was quiet as they listened to Tex speak, his voice obviously upset with the information he just found out.
“What did I miss?” Pratt whispered to Highlander.
“Apparently, Dakota was looking up information on BDSM on her laptop and cell phone.” Highlander whispered back to his wife.
“Holy shit. Are you kidding me? What in the world would she be doing that for?” Pratt asked Highlander, looking up at him with wide eyes.
“Tex is getting to that here in a few.”
“Looks like she was talking to someone online, telling them about some issues she’s been having with her mother and stepfather. Told the person the only place she felt safe was at the Eddie and Sheila’s place.” Tex continued speaking through the speaker phone to the room.
“We’ve known that for a while now. She’s had problems with the stepfather for the last several years. She would never really go into details about what some of the problems were no matter how much we’ve tried to get her to talk to us.” Eddie affirmed, frustrated about everything.
“Do you think she may have told Tina about the situation?” Diesel sympathetically asked Eddie.
“Wouldn’t surprise me. Those two talked about everything under the sun and then some. They are very close to one another. They were planning on going to the same college, even said they would never move unless the other one moved near them. Pretty much had their whole life planned to make sure they were always close by.” Shane responded with a sad smile.
“Tex, was there anything, anywhere, in her computer or phone that could lead to what issues she had with Ruiz or her mother?” York asked Tex, writing something on her notepad.
“The only thing I’ve found so far is talks about arguments between her and her mother. From what I have found so far, Candy has accused Dakota of seducing the stepfather, being a slut and made threats of getting rid of her.”
“Do you think Candy could have set this up for Dakota to be kidnapped and Tina just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time?” Rameriez questioned the group.
“Wrong place at the wrong time?” Eddie asked angrily.
“Hear me out, Mr. Jones. Answer two questions for me and then I can tell you why I asked that question. When the idea for the shopping spree yesterday came about, who’s idea was it for Tina and Dakota to be together?” Rameriez continued on, writing stuff down as well.
“Dakota was going to go searching for her dress and stuff she needed. When Sheila found out, she offered to drive her since they were going to the same places that day to search for Tina’s stuff. Sheila had offered to help Dakota with getting her hair and nail appointments set up, she’d already made the appointments for their make-up a few days prior.” Shane answered for Eddie. “Sorry, I was in the room with Sheila when the plans were made last minute.”
“Ok, did they go that same day or was there a specific day planned?” Rameriez asked Shane and Eddie.
“It was actually last minute, Dakota had already had plans to go that day since Candy had plans for her the rest of the week, so Sheila and Tina went with her yesterday when Dakota came by the house.” Shane remembered, explaining everything to everyone in the room.
“That answers my questions. My train of thought is this, what if Candy had set up for Dakota to be kidnapped while at the mall, but Sheila and Tina were unexpected obstacles for these people to get to her. Do either of you know if Dakota called her mother and told her about them going at the last minute?” Rameriez theorized, as she was writing down her notes.
“Hold on, let me ask Sheila really quick!” Eddie said as he pulled out his phone and sent a text to his wife.
