I said, “It’s going tohaveto be a Good-Morn Master Magnus because we cannot get acrobatic in these bunks.” I kissed his nose and trailed my lips down his chest.
He said, “I think we can do anythin’ we like tae do, and if m’wife wants tae do flips and spins I think I will figure it out.”
I giggled, “Flips and spins? Ha!” I drew my lips to his waist and pulled his pajama pants down his legs. “The good thing about Good-Morn Master Magnus is that it doesn’t require acrobatics at all andhowlong were you in the past without me?”
“Months and months, so many long months.”
“That’swhy…” I settled down between his legs. “For our lack of space, I’m taking one for the team and giving you a Good-Morn Master Magnus all for yourself.”
His eyes twinkled. “I will get ye back the next time.”
“Oh definitely,” I said, as I took him in my mouth, my tongue up and down the length of him, his fingers entwined in my hair, his low moans. I brought him to a climax, with some long lingering of my own… Then I lay my cheek on him and rested there. I was content, so happy, but also, for some reason, overwhelmed. “I missed you so much, I was so scared.”
“I ken, I was as well.” He pulled me up to lay on his chest. An arm around me, his lips pressed to my forehead. “We hae tae make sure nae one loops, tis a terrifyin’ thing tae hae our memories turned inside out like that.”
I nodded.
He said, “The good news is, though, I thought twas Domnall or Ormr that were causing it, but twas James. I find comfort in that we are the center of the timeline, weare the ones that create the chaos and also the calm.”
“That’s a good point, the vessels are ours, and you are the king of all time.”
“I used tae be king of all time, now I am back tae just a man, king in the future, but just a man in the present. I just had a braw Good-Morn from m’wife and now I’m going tae hae a feast. We canna be sad.”
“We canna be sad!” I wiped my eyes on my arm and jumped from the bed. “I love you.” I kissed him. “Let’s get you something to eat.”
CHAPTER 64- KAITLYN
When I got outside there was a strange car in the driveway with its trunk open and grocery bags overfilling it. There were more bags in the back seat, there was a lovely young woman making trips in and out of the house along with Emma.
I said, “Hi!” as I went into the kitchen where Zach was shoving food into any cupboard that would fit it. The young woman laughed. “How many people is this now? I’ve been delivering groceries here twice a day all week.”
Emma counted on her fingers. “Fourteen, I think.”
I said, “Lochinvar makes fifteen.”
“Fifteen and some of them are very hungry.” Emma introduced me, “Kaitlyn, matriarch of the house, just arrived—”
“I’m the motherfucking matriarch.” I clamped my mouth shut. “Sorry about that.”
The young woman smiled. “No worries.”
Emma said, “This is Tracy, she delivered our groceries the first day, and now I have her on speed dial. Because Zachary will not plan two meals ahead.”
Zach grumbled, “I want to make everyone special food, what they want, when they want it, to do that I have to keep my options open.”
“Nice to meet you, Tracy.” She went out to the car for the last load with Emma following.
Zach was struggling to close a cabinet door, a box fell out onto the counter. He joked, “Guess we gotta eat what’s in that box first. This is a tiny kitchen.”
I said, “Somehow Grandma Barb managed to cook whole meals here.”
“For fifteen?”
“Rarely.”
Soon coffee was brewed. Zach said, “Once you have your coffee you have to move to the other side of the room, stop hounding me, I’m trying to get these waffles made.”
Emma made a coffee for Lochinvar, black.
