“How the fuck did you even get her number?” He looked at me like he didn’t know me.
“Marbles owed me a favor.” I brought my phone, copying and pasting her number from my messages into the contact form. Once I saved her under wifey, I sent her a text.
Me: You hungry, bae?
I stared at the phone for a few seconds before she responded.
Wifey: Who is this?
Me: Who did you give yo’ number to that got you asking who?
Wifey: No, fr who is this?
Me: I told you I was on my time back at the bar.
Wifey: How did you get my number, Malik?
Me: Doesn’t matter. I asked if u was hungry, Lil’ One.
I saw the bubbles pop up. But then they stopped right before starting again. Females didn’t turn down meals, and I knew that for a fact.
Wifey: Yeah.
Me: I’ll be that way in fifteen.
Wifey: You don’t even know where I am.
Me: The shop, right? See u in a few.
I put my phone down and waved the waitress back over to the table. I ordered a variety meal to go, then I finally looked back at my boy who had a smirk on his face.
“This how you moving now?”
I chuckled and waved him off. “I want her ass something bad. She’s about her money and she’s a homebody.”
“The fuck that got to do with the price of tea in China?”
“Exactly what I said. A homebody female is god’s gift to this earth.” No explanation after that was necessary. He and I talked for a while longer before the food came and we parted ways. I meant what I said about putting forth all the necessary energy to get at shorty. I never ever had to put forth this much effort for a female and I for sure never wanted to, but it was something about the way she carried herself as well as her ability to turnme down and not even blink. She had my interest peaked, so of course I had Marbles look her up for me. What he found I liked, everything except old boy who seemed to have been in her life for a while. Their history didn’t affect me, shit as a matter of fact it made me laugh because to a nigga like me history meant nothing.
When I walked into the shop I stopped at the front desk and asked the lil’ short ass girl to point me in the direction of the area where Taree was.
When I entered the space, she was seated in a chair with her phone glued to her ear and her eyes rolled to the ceiling. She didn’t even realize I entered until I closed the door behind me. Whomever was on the other line was getting on her nerves, I could just see it in her face.
“Yeah, Hadees. I hear you. I need to call you back, my client just walked in.”
I smirked at her calling me her client. I’d be that for now, but soon I was finna be her future man and there wasn’t a damn thing anybody could say or do about it.
When she got off the phone, she just looked at me, before she began to shake her head. “Are you this persistent with females who don’t have a man?”
“Nope, because I don’t pursue them.” I held her food out for her to grab.
“Why not?” She maintained eye contact with me.
“Because I don’t want them.” I walked around her space looking around her setup. “I want you.” I looked directly at her.
“Why?”
“You got a lot of fucking questions. Are you the feds?” I peered at her intently for a second.
