And that verge camequickly.

It rushed through me like a battering ram, slamming into my walls just as hard as Garroway plowed. The claps of our flesh echoed and carried through the whole damned manor.

I noticed Dimmon Plank squirming to wakefulness, and then I looked away and focused on Garroway’s face so I didn’t have to think about my attacker.

Because I had a lover now to guide me. Someone who unfathomably cared for me. Someone I trusted, perhaps more than anyone I had before him—even Lukain—because he hadcome back to me.

Fuck my special magic blood and the bond it created between us. The fact Garroway returned and begged for more was enough to change me. It was stronger than the supposed “connection” my Loreblood caused.

There was no rejection with Garroway like there had been with Lukain. He fed on me the first time in the temple. He returned for more, unable to help himself.

Ecstasy careened through me when he combined our fornicating with his feeding, launching my spirit into another realm.

The battering ram collided again, I moaned in a long drawl, and then my body seized.

Garroway gasped and sucked in a sharp breath before hilting his cock inside me. My entire curvy body bounced and he nearlytook me off my feet with that final thrust. It was a thrust for the ages, and I yelped at his aggressiveness.

The gates opened and I unleashed everything I had, squeezing my legs and arms around him in a tight embrace as we both came undone simultaneously. I unraveled before this half-man I hardly knew but had become intrinsically connected with.

We groaned in each other’s ears as we released. His hot ropes of cum flooded me and he didn’t bother disconnecting our sweaty bodies to unload himself.

I spasmed in unison, eyes rolling again as white lights shot behind my lids and claimed me. The pleasure nearly knocked me out cold but I held on and gripped him for stability—to keep me grounded as I came.

When it was done, we slowly unhanded each other but didn’t move our bodies away. Together, we slid down to the cold ground. My back crackled against the uneven surface of the wall. I didn’t care. I felt no pain.

Our foreheads fell forward and pressed together. Our labored breaths slowly mellowed as one. The thrum of blood rushing in my ears evened out. I could feel him trickling out of me once he withdrew his cock.

“Fuck, that was amazing,” I breathed. “I’ve never felt like that.”

“It’s just the beginning, lass . . . if you’ll allow it.”

I nodded dumbly, looked into his sparkling red eyes. “You promise?”

He smiled.

“What’s this about promises? Is my bloodthrall making vows he can’t keep?”

My head snapped up at the deep, resonant voice coming from the doorway of the cell. Garroway’s face whipped over his shoulder, startled and scared.

“M-Master,” he crowed. “I can explain.”

Skartovius Ashfen lifted a hand to silence his thrall. His regal stance—the cloak framing his tall, gaunt form, his flaring red-gold eyes, his deep frown of judgment—made him impossibly intimidating as he looked down his nose at the two naked people before him.

I could only imagine what went through Skar’s mind, seeing my Loreblood dripping from his thralls chin.

“I remember a promise I made of my own,” he said, speaking to me. “Do you recall, little temptress?”

I didn’t bother hiding my modesty. There was no point with this daring, dark vampire. “You said I would submit to you . . . of my own volition.”

“Well?” He tilted his head. “Your eyes tell me you are ready to make good on the bargain.”

I glanced into Garroway’s eyes, seeing his gaze flare with eagerness and excitement. I didn’t see jealousy or hate or resentment there—only more lust.

“I am,” I whispered. My body called for Lord Ashfen, even though Garro had just sullied me and turned me into a panting mess.

I wanted more. Ineededmore. This thirst was unquenchable.

“What was that?” Skar asked annoyingly, stepping into the cell. “I couldn’t hear you.”
