“I thought you liked Amelia?!” She exclaims.

“I do! She is wonderful and super kind. I just don’t want to see you get hurt. That’s all.”

“Me, get hurt? Please. You’re the one juggling three men. You little hoe.” Jules and I laugh as I stand up to grab my purse.

“Alright, fine. I’ll meet you there at 7 pm.”

Jules squeals with excitement, jumps up, and hugs me. “Yay! I’ll bring the flask, you bring the weed,” she says.

“Deal. See you later bitch,” I squeeze her hand and drop it.

“See you later, slut.”

Chapter 24

Dani

I make sure to wear my best, sluttiest dress tonight. Thanks to Amelia’s little summoning magic, I’m wearing a beautiful lingerie set in red, black, and gold underneath.

Tonight, I’m going to fuck all three of my mates at once.

Amelia helps me get ready. I make sure I grill her not telling Jules too much information.

“I just don’t want Jules getting wrapped up in any of this,” I admit.

“I think Jules is a grown adult and can make decisions for herself. I get it, Dani; I really do. I understand protecting those you love most. But sometimes, you don’t always know what is best for everyone. People don’t always need to be hidden from truths. Sometimes, all they really need is a hand to hold and a heart to understand them.”

I sigh. “I know, I know.”

Amelia’s fingers deftly curl my hair around the heated wand as she speaks calmly. “You have to allow others the space to navigate their own experiences,” she says, her voice steady yet passionate. “Change is a natural force that needs to be embraced when it arises. Trying to force someone to change against their will can ultimately do more harm than good, not only to them but to yourself as well.” She pauses, glancing at me with a mix of empathy and resolve. “I need to be honest with Jules. I want to lay everything bare for her and let her decide how to react and what path to follow. You can only offer her love and unwavering support. It’s essential to be truthful and to provide the clarity she might need. But you must also give her the freedom to explore her own way through this,” Amelia says, gesturing gracefully with herhand as if to emphasize the journey she envisions, embodying her words with a vibrant wave that flows up and down her frame.

“I’m not going to tell you what to do, Amelia. I trust you completely,” I reply, my voice steady and warm. “And I wholeheartedly agree with everything you’ve said. If you feel ready to tell her, then go ahead.” Amelia erupts into an excited squeal, her radiant energy filling the room as she swiftly kisses my cheek. “I knew you’d be understanding! I was determined to tell her tonight, regardless. But I did want your blessing, just a tiny bit,” she admits, her eyes sparkling.

I chuckle softly, sharing in her joy as I meticulously finish applying the last touches of my makeup.

The subtle fragrance of my favorite perfume lingers in the air around us.

As I turn to gaze at myself in the mirror, a smile spreads across my face, reflecting on my appearance.

“Girl! You look like a goddess,” Amelia exclaims, her voice filled with excitement.

She hands me a pair of black stilettos that gleam under the bathroom light. Carefully, I slip my feet into the elegant heels. I feel a rush of confidence wash over me. I glance at my reflection once more. With my silhouette elongated, I stand taller, and my outfit comes alive.

Damn, I really do look like a fuckinggoddess.

Amelia and I get to the Festival of Clouds first. My nerves are all over the place with how tonight will turn out. Not only with Jules but with my mates.

Set against the backdrop of twilight, the town has transformed into a magical little realm with flickeringlanterns and whimsical decorations, casting a warm glow over the festivities.

Amelia’s eyes light up. “It’s beautiful!” She implores.

“The same every year,” I say, my voice laced with irritation.

“Oh Dani, don’t be so cold! It’s a fun time. Try not to think about Octavia or you’ll spoil the whole night, not just for yourself, but for all of us.”

Sometimes I hate how right Amelia always is.

“Okay, you’re right. I’ll lighten up. But only just a little,” I hold up my index and thumb fingers, indicating a small amount.
