Killian.

Jules’ big eyes are in shock as her jaw hangs open. Fuck, this is embarrassing… And yet their claims are turning me on.

“Uh… well. Um. This is—”

Dax laughs, “It’s not very often our girl is at a loss for words, is it Killian?”

Killian laughs and rubs my inner thigh. “No, no, it’s not.” He shifts his gaze to Jules and Carter and extends his hand. “I’m Killian, Dani’s boyfriend.”

Jules and Carter shake his hand, still not saying a single word.

“I’m Dax, her other boyfriend.”

Suddenly, the necklace on my chest hums, and I feel his presence at my back. My body shudders.

With strong hands, I am lifted out of my seat, and Adonis sits there, pulling me in his lap, while Dax and Killian sip their whiskey on either side. A quiet but noticeable growl rumbles from his chest as he glares at Carter.

Julia has the biggest smile on her face.

“And I’m Adonis. Her number one,” and he tips my head back and kisses me passionately. His tongue slips past my lips, and I welcome him. He hasn’t kissed me like this yet.

My heart beats fast, and I squeeze my legs together tightly for friction.

“Aw, come on, Adonis, why you gotta do us dirty like that?” Killian says while rubbing his perfect jawline.

I push my lips together and look back and forth at Jules and Carter, waiting for one of them to say something.

“Well, holy fucking shit, Dani. When you said someone, you didn’t mention THREE someones!!” Jules twirls her straw around in her drink as she breaks the ice. Carter looks like he just shit a brick.

“How, uh, how does this work?” Carter’s brows are pushed together as he waves his finger back and forth between the three of them.

“Would you like me to draw you a picture? Or perhaps I’ll take a photo next time and send it to you. I’m sure you’d enjoy the details,” Dax says with irritation.

I smack his chest, “Dax! Stop.”

“No, that won’t be necessary,” Carter says, shaking his head.

“What, Carter? Do you have a problem with three men and one woman? I bet if it was a man with three women you’d think that would be pretty cool, huh? Fucking hypocrite. Don’t judgeourwoman.”

“Okay, Dax! Enough! Carter is just processing everything,” I say, sticking up for my best friend.

“No, no he isn’t, Dani. Dax is right. Carter is a hypocrite, and he is most certainly judging you,” Adonis says, his voice vibrating my entire body.

They are pissing me off and Jules senses that. I shift in Adonis’ lap.

“Whatever. Dani, as long as you’re happy and safe, that’s all I care about. I’m going to find Destiny,” Carter says. Something in his tone seemed a little sad.

Jules rises energetically, breaking the tension. Her eyes sparkling with mischief. “Come on, Dani, let’s hit the dance floor!” she exclaims, tilting her head back to down the last of her drink in one swift motion. She perches on the table’s edge, her enthusiasm infectious. I pull my straw from my glass, downing my drink in a single gulp, then gracefully push off Adonis’ lap.

Grabbing Jules’ hand, I can feel the pulse of the music beckoning us.

Our laughter rises above the noise as we weave through the crowd. I look over my shoulder to see Carter chatting with Destiny now. His eyes keep darting to me and back to her. I feel kind of bad. The guys were dicks to him.

The dance floor is filled with the warmth of bodies moving in rhythm and the smell of sweat.

A waitress walks by and Jules catches her gaze. “Two shots of absinthe, please!” The waitress nods and makes her way back to the bar.

Jules and I start dancing, she shouts over the music, “Three, Dani?! You fucking go, girl! I’m so proud of you! What’s it like?!” Jules asks, being the supportive friend she is.
