I taste myself on him. A primal urge stirs within me, fierce and insatiable, akin to a relentless hunter prowling through shadowed woods for its unsuspecting prey. It awakens a wild intensity, a deep-seated longing that fuels my every thought and movement, drawing me closer.

Our tongues swirl around, tasting each other. Needing each other.I wrap my legs around his waist and grind myself against his hard length.

My nails claw at his back, leaving marks on his flesh.I take his bottom lip in my teeth, and I bite, drawing blood. The unique tangy, metallic flavor fills my senses.I feel like a wild animal. Starved for his blood.

Dax hisses and grabs my hand, bringing my wrist to his mouth. His lips hover over my dried blood. His tongue, touches my skin gently.

He stops. His eyes go wide.

“Shit! I... I have to go.”

What the hell?

He stands, rubbing the back of his neck. “Don’t do anything stupid. Adonis won’t be happy that I freed you from the cuffs.” He adjusts himself.

As he starts to walk away, I notice the knife on the nightstand sitting next to the wine bottle. I quickly grab it and jump off the bed. Before I can do anything, I suddenly freeze in place.

I can’t move my body.

Dax slowly turns towards me with that cocky smile.

“You see, Dani. I can make you do anything I want you to. Your mind will still be there, but your body, I can control.Put. The. Knife. Down. You will not be spilling more of my blood tonight, little dove.”

Not by my own doing, I hand Dax the knife and then fall to my knees. My ass sits on my heels, as the torn shirt and bra still hang from my arms.

Dax takes a few steps closer and with a finger under my chin, he makes me look up at him.

“Now, this is a beautiful sight. You on your knees… You will stay like this until one of us comes back. We aren’t going to hurt you Dani.”

I can’t move. Can’t speak.

Tears of frustration flow down my cheeks as I watch Dax walk out the bedroom door.

I need to get the fuck out of here. But a part of me wants to stay...

My arm starts to tingle and slightly burn.

A strange sensation begins to creep up my inner arm, a tingling that radiates from my fingertips to my elbow.

I extend my arm out in front of my naked body, fixating my gaze upon it. I guess I can move it now.

I watch my inner arm as my skin glimmers with an ethereal light. A warm flush that feels both foreign and familiar, as if it’s on fire but in the most exhilarating way.

I inhale sharply, my breath hitching in my throat.

A large rune materializes on the inside of my arm; its boundaries are etched clearly into my flesh. It bears the hue of my skin, resembling a scar rather than a tattoo, yet it pulsates with an otherworldly energy. The elaborate design appears to ripple with life. This is Dax’s mark on his arm, which is in the exact same spot.

What is happening?I’m no longer frozen in place.

Chapter 11

Killian

“What the fuck, guys? So you all get to have a taste of our woman, and I’m the only one who hasn’t yet?!” I shout at Adonis and Dax as they sit at the table, downing their whiskey.

Adonis kicks his legs up and rests his hands behind his head. “Sorry, Kil. You gotta be quicker, I guess.”

I could punch that smug smile right off his face.
