“Feline, what the hell are you doing! I am naked. You do not need to see this!” He yelled.

“Trust me, I don’t. Dicks don’t do it for me,” she deadpanned.

“Obviously not!” He glared at her. “Good gods, are you recording me? If you are making an Only Fans page, I want the cuts. You can’t be giving this stuff away for free.” He waved his hand lower. “Hey, wait, I used my magic; you can’t give any of this away!” He wrapped the shower curtain around his waist, pulled it off the rod, and stepped out of the shower to chase her.

My sides hurt from laughing by the end of the call, and by nightfall, I was feeling better knowing I had seen most of the Iron Fang. However, there were thoughts that lingered in the back of my mind that this all could still be a dream. I tried to push them away.

It’s like I’m waiting for Duke Idris to walk through the door of our cabin or for the demon to appear and tell me this was all false hope.

Bear set the phone down and nibbled on my shoulder. “Do I need to bite your shoulder and let you know this is real?” He playfully nipped me.

I bit my lip and shook my head. “I keep trying to tell myself this is real. Over and over, I keep saying it in my head.”

“I know, it’s annoying!” my bear said, and that got us both to chuckle.

“I think it’s just going to be a process. I need lots of reminders.”

Bear played with my necklace. “And I’ll give them to you. My grizzly and I will do that plenty. And once you are feeling better, I’ll be sure to give your ass what it’s owed.” He kissed my shoulder again like what he said didn’t mean anything.

“I’m sorry, what?”

“You heard me,” he muttered on my shoulder. “Your ass is toast. I’m spanking it for not listening to me. I’ve warned you before, now I’m following through. Once I feel you are up to it, I’m taking this ass.” He gripped my tiny butt with his hand. “And I’m gonna slap it until it’s nice and pink.”

Oh dear.

Chapter Thirty-Nine

Nadia

“Nadia!Whereareyou?”

I could hear the loud slam of the cabin door as Bear stormed out onto the porch, his bare feet thudding against the wooden planks. With curious hands, he picked up the clothes I had just stripped off, bringing them close to his face and inhaling deeply, trying to catch a whiff of my scent.

“Female, you better have not gone far!” He yelled into the forest.

I snickered, continuing along a path well taken. I never go far from the cabin. I was still too afraid to be away from Bear for long. Teddy and Bear were my anchor that kept my mind wandering too far, wondering if this world was real or not.

As soon as I had doubts, Bear would either bite into my mark for an instant orgasm, or he would shower me with affection to let me know he’d beat a demon’s ass once, and he’d do it again.

My nightmares were gone. I’d never felt more peaceful, even before I was given the nightmare demon. It could be attributed to our physical activities before bed, but I also give credit to Tajah and Bram.

The necklace was a constant reminder of what I had been through. I never took it off. It shifted with me when I did. The chain was magical to that effect, and it was amazing that it didn’t break and mold with me. Then again, I wasn’t a large grizzly with a thick neck and muscles like Bear. I was still rather small for a bear shifter.

I am pretty sure I weighed the same in my human form too.

“Nadia!” Bear’s voice howled as I heard him shift into his animal. It came out with a low, growly roar, and I could hear his pounding claws hit the soft dirt.

My bear, who Bear and I decided together to name Nikita, snickered while I fumbled with my claws to climb the nearest tree. “He’s going to get you,” she sang.“You still haven’t figured out how to climb a tree properly, by the way.”

I huffed, trying to dig my claws deeper into the bark.“As I recall, you are supposed to be helping me with this. Why don’t you take over?”

The bark trickled down the tree and landed on the ground. I continued to skirt up the trunk and into the highest branches, knowing good and well that Teddy wouldn’t be able to climb that high.

Nikita hummed.“No, this is more fun. Besides, as much as Teddy has been working with you the past two weeks, I’m surprised you aren’t better.”

I rolled my eyes and continued to climb until I reached a branch that I knew would hold my weight.

“And besides, I don’t want that spanking to hurt more than it should. You should just take it like a good girl.”
