Teal grinned up at Sorcha.

“Watching him blow you was the hottest thing I’ve ever seen,” Sorcha said boldly. “Next time, I want you to come in my mouth.”

Teal winked. “My darling, I’d be happy to fill your mouth with my cum.”

From below Sorcha, Ronan purred.

When Sorcha woke up a few hours later, he assumed it was late evening, since the room was darker than it had been. Not a speck of light invaded through the boarded-up window.

He blinked languidly, experiencing his body in a way he never had before. His skin was sensitive, hot and feverish, but not terrible like earlier when he’d had no one to help ease him. His hole fluttered softly, delightfully sore and slick, as his body prepared itself for its next heat wave.

Events came back to him in a rush. Ronan. Teal. The misery before Teal found him.Thank stars Teal had found him!

A shiver went up his spine as thick fingers combed lovingly through his hair. Opening his eyelids fully, he found himself lying on his side, face-to-face with Ronan.

“There you are,” Ronan murmured softly, leaning forward to brush their noses together. “I was worried you might spend all the time between your waves napping.” Ronan offered Sorcha a bottle of water. “If you can, it would be best for you to drink all of this, since it will be a struggle to eat and drink tomorrow. I hope you don’t mind that I cleaned you up a bit while you were asleep.”

Sorcha realized that his body had been wiped down, no longer grimy with sweat or slick. The scratches he’d inflicted on himself had also been tended to, and a few places on his legs had small bandages. He easily drank the entire bottle of water, finding his thirst intense.

Ronan gazed at him with adoration, and Sorcha felt grateful to be with such a kind alpha. He knew not all alphas were so solicitous. Before their deaths, his alpha father and brothers had crudely informed him that during his heats, he’d be nothing more than a fertile, wet hole to an alpha, that the primary purpose of an omega’s heat was an alpha’s pleasure. He frowned thinking about it.

“What’s the matter, little one?” Ronan tilted Sorcha’s chin with a gentle finger. “Are you hurting?”

“No. I was just remembering my family. What they told me my heats would be like.”

The alpha scowled. “Let me guess. They said that omegas are useless creatures whose only purpose is to spread their legs for alphas.”

“Pretty much.”

Ronan gathered Sorcha closer to his chest. “It should never be like that.” Rubbing Sorcha’s shoulders, he asked, “Are you up for telling me what happened with your uncles? How you ended up in this room?”

Sorcha peered up at Ronan. “There’s not a lot to tell, honestly. They knew my heat was coming and they were angry about me going off the suppressants. Maybe a week ago, I tried to ask them about a heat service, but they wouldn’t talk about it. And I couldn’t do it for myself because they’re still my guardians. Not to mention I don’t have any money.”

“Your uncles don’t pay you for your woodworking?”

Sorcha snorted. “According to them, they pay me with food and a roof over my head.”

Ronan’s answering growl eased when Sorcha’s hand traced circles over his chest. The alpha exhaled. “So, your uncles wouldn’t contract with a heat service, and I take it they didn’t have an alpha friend who could help?”

“Even if they did, I doubt they considered that option. I think this was always the plan. A few days ago, I came in from the garage and noticed all the stuff in my room. The water and food. The, um, toys.” Sorcha’s face heated. “I wasn’t three feet past the door when my uncles slammed it closed. I guess they’d installed the padlocks during the day. Dale yelled at me from the other side before they left.”

“What did he say?”

“He said I’d done this to myself, and if I didn’t make it, then it was my fault. He said he and Abe would be back in a week and if my heat hadn’t happened by then, they’d keep bringing me food and water and locking me in until it did.”

“When was this?”

“Day before yesterday.”

“Good.” Sorcha flinched and Ronan ran a hand up and down his arm reassuringly. “Sorry, little one. I don’t mean it’s good that they did that to you. I meant it’s good that your heat will be over before they come back.”

“Why?”

“Because that makes it easier to do what needs to be done.” Ronan stared directly into Sorcha’s eyes as he declared, “Your uncles will never hurt you again, omega. I promise.”

At the sound of Ronan’s alpha voice, Sorcha whispered, “I believe you.”
