And like the routine I’ve found with working on the renovation with the guys, Domino and I have fallen into one too. Basically, we’re living together and barely spend a minute apart. You’d think it would be odd or weird, but it’s not. It’s as natural as Summer and me being friends. We have quiet moments. We have small tiffs. We even go grocery shopping together.

It’s… different. Different because it doesn’t feel like anything but breathing. It feels right. As natural as anything I’ve ever done in my life. Which makes it odd in itself. But the man fucks like a demon, and I’m praising him nightly. Not about to stop that anytime soon. So if the plumbing needs an extra week, fine by me. The only plans I have are what position to get into tonight.

You know, if he asks me nicely.

I smile to myself at all the ways Domino and I have fucked over the last two weeks. Definitely some interesting positions. I’m not sure what my favorite is, because I always get what I want in the end—him stretching me to the point that I feel like it’s too much and then asking him to do it again and again. I’ve become addicted to his fat cock. I fear that he’s stretched me to the point that I’ll never be satisfied by another again.

“Yo, Menace. You here?” Rooster pokes his head through the door and spots me. I give him a nod, which he returns. “Domino’s looking for you. I can walk you over if you’re ready to go.”

“I should get going too. Gotta pick the kids up from school.” Summer grabs me and forces a hug on me. She always does it, since I’ve never been the hugging type, and because she knows I won’t push her away. Not because she hugsme, but just because she knows I won’t punch her for less than a fair fight.

“Bye, honey. Tell the kids hi for me, and I’ll see you at the fight tonight.” I wave her off as she exits, then grab my stuff from one of the collapsible tables the guys set up to use as a worktable.

“Still planning on fighting tonight?” Rooster asks as I lock up and we head back to the club.

I narrow my eyes at him, but his face remains neutral. Not sure if he’s curious or just checking for Domino’s sake. “That’s the plan.”

He nods but says nothing else as we enter the clubhouse and head to the elevators.

“He’s on the second floor,” he says a second before we enter the empty elevator and he pushes the button. I don’t know why we didn’t take the stairs if it’s only one flight up. But maybe I’m the only one fond of them. Especially after getting in some extra work on them a few weeks ago.

“This way.”

When the doors open, I follow Rooster down the hall and turn into a room I’ve never been in before. There are a few monitors on the walls, but it’s mostly a conference room from the looks of it. Domino’s in here with Mickey, Bane, Lucky, and Link, their tech guy.

Domino glances up from a computer screen he’s looking at over Link’s shoulder, and I smile at him.

“We found him.”

My smile drops, and I grab for the table as I stumble at his words. “What? Where? Who is he? How do you know it’shim?”

“Link had the idea that maybe it’s someone closer to you rather than just a crazed fan. That maybe it’s someone you know or who at least thinks they know you. We’ve been looking at every member within the underground, and Mack and Tommy have given us a few names to run down that had them thinking twice. We even did the same with those at your gym, and one guy popped with a background full of domestic violence.”

“Guy put his last three girlfriends in the hospital. The last one claimed it was only one date, and it was months ago. He went off on her when she dated another guy and said he was hers. Guy got out of prison about four months ago due to overcrowding. And apparently he started looking for a new girl, and that’s when he found you.” Link glances up at me from his computer for a second before going back to whatever he’s looking at now.

“From what we can tell, it was me taking you home that was the catalyst for all of this. Why he stepped up his game. But instead of beating up the girl like he did before, he’s taking out those who are getting close. Or those who threaten you in some way, I think,” Bane says as he looks over at me.

I go around the table. “What are you looking at?”

“Live feed. I called Tommy and told him who was after his fighter. Figured he’d want to be the one to bring him in.”

“That and he was in the gym when we put all of this together,” Lucky supplies for the group.

We watch Tommy confront some big guy who looks pretty bulked up. Well, he has his shirt off, so it’s obvious, but I bet under the right sweater, he could hide hismuscles.

“How do you know it’s him?” I ask. “I mean, other than his record.”

Domino leans toward me but doesn’t look away from the screen. “Had Grim and a prospect go by his place first to have a chat. They found the door unlocked and went in.”

“Unlocked?” I ask, turning my head to Domino, who turns his to wink at me and shrugs at the same time.

“Sure. That’s what we’ll tell the cops, at least. There were half a dozen pictures of you. They called, told me, and we went hunting. Found out he had a gym membership and checked there. Things all fell into place at once, and we’re pouncing before we give the guy a second chance,” Domino mumbles, his attention drawn back to the screen.

I nod and look back at the feed too. Tommy seems to just be talking to him, but then the guy backs up and Tommy advances, and soon they’re sparring. Tommy takes a solid punch, and then the other guy is running for his bag. He pulls something out, and Tommy ducks.

“Shit, he’s got a gun,” Lucky breaks the obvious news for us.

“Fuck. Call Tommy’s men and tell them to stand down. Tell them—” Domino stops talking because the guy is no longer standing. He’s fallen after flinching and jerking four times. My brain takes a second to register he was shot by someone. Probably whoever Domino was worried would retaliate and protect their boss.
