My grip on her tightened, helping her bounce as I slammed up into her. On each thrust my knot teased her entrance, but didn’t slip past. She came apart on my cock within minutes, trembling and curling over as she groaned through her orgasm. Hers triggered mine, my release weak after so many within the past few days.

“You don’t need my knot, right princess?” I asked.

She shook her head, slumping onto my chest with a moan and another yawn. I gently moved her off me, kissing her forehead. By the time I’d untangled my limbs from hers, she was fast asleep.

“We need to discuss what happened,” I said, leaning casually against the kitchen counter.

My pack had been in here when I’d arrived, eating takeout.

“Did you break her heat?” Leighton asked.

I nodded. “She’s going to be asleep for a while. I’ve been solely focused on her through the whole heat, but I know you and Mercury have been working through the aftermath of what happened. Neither of you can control yourselves.”

Mercury looked mildly told off, but Leighton was completely unconcerned with the accusation.

“There wasn’t much I could do without leaving the apartment, but Liberty has been keeping tabs,” she said. “Tobias was taken to the hospital and the gunshot wounds didn’t kill him. Noah Connolly has been seen back at his estate—the police questioned him heavily after Soren released him back into the world. We haven’t been able to figure out what Soren wanted from him.”

“What about your mother?”

Leighton’s expression shuttered for a second. She’d given us bits and pieces of detail in between heat with Kiara. We knew her mother had sold her out for a chance to clear some debt.

“Seems to be living her life as normal. I’ve got plans for her. Might as well utilize Soren, since I’m going to be working for him.”

She raised an accusatory eyebrow at Dash and Mercury. Dash grinned. “He’s actually kind of fun, when he’s not blackmailing you. Besides, your reputation is in shambles. That billionaire asshat is probably your best chance at building yourself back up.”

He paused, tossing a fry into his mouth and swallowing. “Not that you have to work. I can be your sugar daddy, Leighton.”

She growled, shaking her head. “I donotneed you to support me.”

“Not saying you do, sweetheart. But I’ve got enough money that you could just lounge around all day, waiting for me to get home from work…”

His teasing was making her green eyes flash. Dash was poking a bear, and he knew it. He was angling for another spanking from her, and if I was gauging this correctly, he wouldn’t have to wait long.

I cleared my throat. “That’s off topic. Is Kiara safe? Her brother is still alive. Father, too. What’s stopping them from coming for her now? And your mother could still release the information about your brother’s alpha.”

I didn’t particularly care about the last bit, but I knew Leighton would.

Leighton sighed. “Soren. As usual, everything revolves around him. I bet he’s expecting me to report for work soon, so it might be time to settle everything up with him. Make sure we’re all on the same page.”

“Do you need me to come with you to see him?”

She waved me off, straightening her posture. She was wearing my clothes, and somehow looked incredibly professional regardless. “I can handle him. I’m going to have to. He might be angry about the info I collected on his safe havens, but he might also be impressed. Only one way to find out.”

The idea of her going there alone didn’t sit right with me, but I held back my complaints. Leighton wasn’t a fragile omega like Kiara, a woman who needed to be protected and knew nothing of the world. She was an alpha, and I had to treat her like one.

Even though I wanted to wrap her up and keep her as my doll, so she couldn’t be hurt.

“Let me drive you to your apartment, at least,” I offered.

She gave me a small smile of agreement, then sent Mercury and Dash to the bedroom, so they could be there for Kiara when she woke up.

SIXTY-SIX

LEIGHTON

They let me right through the gate at Soren’s estate. Guards didn’t need to speak with me—they saw my car and the gate opened, an extended baton waving me through.
