“Can I have those too? Please?”

I groaned. At this point, I couldn’t help it. She’d stripped me of everything else—I wasn’t even wearing socks. Now she wanted the underwear I was wearing? They had a wet spot from where my cock had leaked precum onto the cotton.

“You probably—”

She almost started to cry again. I saw those tears coming, and there was no way I was going to let it happen. Standing up, I crowded her back and took in a healthy breath of her scent as I did. She was so aroused I almost ignored my inhibitions and helped relieve her, but I didn’t.

Her chest brushed mine as I stepped out of my boxer briefs and gave them to her. She whined, swaying where she stood.

I didn’t know if I could watch her inhale my scent directly from my fucking boxers, but she didn’t. She held them with the rest of my things and squeaked out a quick, “Thanks!”

The little omega was gone a second later, hurrying off to add a piece of me to her nest. A place I didn’t belong, but wanted to.

So badly.

Taking a few calming breaths, I grabbed the base of my cock and squeezed. I was not going to jerk off, especially not while the two of us were here alone. There was enough control left in the deepest recesses of my brain for me to manage that.

I was going to find some new clothes to put on that Kiara hadn’t commandeered for her nest, and I was going to forget about being stripped bare in the living room by a needy omega.

Though, I’d been stripped bare in far more than just the physical sense, and that was the most dangerous thing of all.

With a curse, I stormed into the office and pulled on a set of Ambrose’s clothing, the oversized loungewear hanging from me. I tried not to hope that she would come back and strip me all over again.

Because that was ridiculous to want, when there was no way she would be comfortable enough to fuck me during her heat.

FORTY-FOUR

LEIGHTON

Liberty saying ‘meet me at the coffee shop’ didn’t mean to meet at a literal coffee shop. It was code for a warehouse I’d purchased dirt cheap under a fake name. Not exactly legal, but some of the things I did weren’t exactly legal either. As much as I tried to keep it above board, I was a corporate fixer.

Some illegal activity couldn’t be helped.

The area Ambrose and I drove into wasn’t the friendliest. While I’d been here plenty of times before, I was glad for the company. Similarly, I was glad it wasn’t Mercury. He might have judged me too harshly for conducting business in this area of the Gritch District.

That was half the reason I’d denied his request to come along.

The other half of the reason was because I knew he had to spend some time with Kiara. My omega wanted him, and he either needed to tell her straight up that he didn’t want her—a lie—or come to his senses and accept one of her temporary bond marks.

I would have been jealous about my omega bonding all these other alphas when she hadn’t yet claimed me, but I knew our bond was the strongest. An omega claim was a mere shadow of an alpha’s claim.

There was a little part of me that wondered why she wasn’t sinking her teeth in me, though.

“Where do you think Mercury is at with Kiara?” I asked Ambrose, turning into a grungy, graffitied parking lot. “I know I shouldn’t be asking you.”

Ambrose sighed and shrugged. He was scanning out the windows, looking for danger that I bet lingered in every corner. It was doubtful we’d be jumped. Not in the car, at least.

“He doesn’t want her to bond the Ashby pack.”

“Because he wants her, or because he knows it would tear Dash apart?”

“He wants her. He’s acknowledged that to himself, but I don’t think he’s going to make a move until everything is settled. Mercury is aware he treated her like shit.”

I hit a button on my keyring and a garage door pulled up on a warehouse in front of us. It was at the very back of the parking lot, hidden behind a couple of other rundown buildings.

“You heard that she wants him for her heat,” I said.

“I can’t force them together any more than you can. Leaving them alone in the condo is about as good as it gets. She’ll have to tell him, and he’ll have to accept. That’s the only way the whole pack is helping her through her heat.”
