“While I love watching, getting hard in the middle of the cafeteria isn’t the best look for the boss. Let’s break it up.”
Shan grumbled something under his breath and I couldn’t help it; I looked down. At both of them. They both had bulges in their pants, and so did I. Glancing over at Emmett, I found he did too. We were putting on quite the show.
I wandered away from Shan before we could get locked into an embrace again, my hand seeking out Emmett’s. He gave our team leader a somewhat stern look, and then led me away. By the time we reached the cafeteria exit, the two of them were already arguing.
They were definitely going to have a wonderful day together.

Rolling onto my back, I panted, my breaths steaming up the small closet. The water heater hummed in the background, contributing to the warmth. Cum was drying on my chest, and my hole ached pleasantly.
“When you told me to come talk to you, I wasn’t expecting to get fucked in the utilities room,” I said, curling up against Emmett’s side.
“This wasn’t the plan, but you can’t be all aroused around me and not expect me to help you.”
“I was aroused for five minutes. I would have been fine.”
Em pulled me closer with an arm around my shoulders. We were lying on a moving blanket, the kind they used to protect furniture. It insulated us from the cold and somewhat grungy floor. “Fine isn’t good enough. I’d rather have you satisfied and well-fed,” he murmured.
“While I accept that as the truth, I think you had an ulterior motive. Freya was fucking Ozzy, wasn’t she? You could feel her arousal through the bond.”
He didn’t answer right away, giving me the answer I needed. I wasn’t offended. If I had an open bond with Freya, I would have been desperate to fuck through her arousal. The remnants of the Omega bond she’d made were so weak I hadn’t felt anything.
“Our relationship is complicated,” Emmett said finally. “The connection I feel with her is getting deeper, and I’m attracted to her. But everything is happening so fast, you know?”
I nodded, nuzzling against him. Em and I had been really close before the first time we had sex — I’d been in love with him, and I now knew he’d also been in love with me. It was hard to develop a connection like that with Freya when there were other men competing for her attention and threats constantly hanging over our heads.
“You should find a way to spend some time alone with her,” I suggested, knowing Emmett’s tendency to prefer privacy in intimate moments.
“And how do you propose I do that?” he asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Um…” I shrugged. “Good point. You’ll grow closer with time, though. Until then, I’m perfectly happy for you to use me to work off your arousal.”
Em sighed, but a smile quirked his lips. “I’m not using you, sweetheart.”
I laughed. “I know, I’m only teasing.”
With the hand that wasn’t holding me tight to his side, he began to rub small circles into my leg and thigh. The gentle touches were what I’d been missing in the hundreds of sexual encounters throughout my life. I could stay here forever, but I knew he was using the touch to calm me down before he asked the big questions.
“Tell me what’s been bothering you.”
Exhaling a heavy breath, I tried to sort through my thoughts. “That’s also hard to explain,” I eventually settled on. “I’m worried about Freya. Not because I don’t think she can take care of herself, but…”
“Because you love her. She knows that, right?”
I nodded. “She has all of us helping to keep her safe, but it feels like it’s not going to be enough. We’re up against an entire organization. Two, really, considering the AEA has the bounty on her and is going to hand her over to Kylan.”
“Nolan has an organization, and he’s on our side.”
I lifted an eyebrow. “Yes, an organization that is bleeding members every day. All of the temporary hires are gone, and some of his assassins have run out, too. I can’t blame them, considering how risky it is to be associated with us. And that brings me to my other worry. What if there’s someone in here who’s on their side? Someone who’s going to betray us?”
“Someone in this building is working for the AEA, and someone is working for Kylan. I can guarantee it,” Emmett said, not assuaging my concerns whatsoever. “It’s the same in any organization. There’s no such thing as a leak-free environment. Nolan has people in the AEA and the mafia too.”
Burying my face against the side of his chest, I groaned. “That doesn’t make me feel any better.”
“I know, but I’m trying to be realistic. We can only protect her so much until he’s dead and the threat is gone. You can’t let your worries stop you from eating and sleeping.”
My mind had been a bit muddled the past few days, each of my thoughts hazy. He was right; continuing this way wasn’t healthy. But what was I supposed to do about my anxiety?
