I smiled at the thought, we were a new couple, our kisses had sealed the promise hours ago. I grew a bouquet of white anemones onto her pillow, removed the roots and left the stems and flowers rest by her side, then kissed her again and disappeared back home.
Chapter Twenty-Seven
I woke up with a fresh floral scent radiating around the bedsheets and I lazily opened my eyes to the new day, a wide smile on my lips from remembering last night’s events. Shifting to the side and expecting to find him next to me, I was struck by a huge bouquet of flowers that caught roots in my pillow.
I touched the present he left for me, forming a path with my finger along the soft buds, making them tingle and spread clouds of that wondrous scent. I had seen them in a garden somewhere, but could not remember their name.
Ansgar was supposed to come visit me at lunch and having no idea what time it was, I decided to make haste and get ready just in case he would be here any second. After I showered and changed into a boho dress with nothing underneath but a pair of matching thongs— thank you Cressi for insisting I brought sexy lingerie—I brushed my teeth, combed my hair and applied sunscreen. I soon added some blush and just a bit of liner, not enough to form a cat eye but sufficient to highlight my lashes. Then I went into the kitchen and prepared some cereal, opening the laptop to check the messages from my dad and read the tons of DMs Cressi sent to me after our conversation.
11:43, I quickly answered my dad first while chewing on the cereal, read the report he attached and sent a few opinions about the shooting location. I went back to instagram to read the dozen messages from my friend, most of which seemed to be appreciative towards my boyfriend’s torso. I stopped. My boyfriend. Was that what he was? Was I comfortable to go so fast with this guy, that after a few kisses—well, okay, a lot of kisses—I wanted to make it official between us? Did the fae even have partners? I decided to leave the question lingering a while longer, scanning line to line of what Cressi wrote.
@Cressidaofficial: Giiiirl, you need to marry him like yesterday
@Cressidaofficial: That is the sexiest man I HAVE EVER SEEN
@Cressidaofficial: Mmmmh… those abs, I would lick them up and down like melted chocolate
@Cressidaofficial: Or better yet, add melted chocolate into the licking
@Cressidaofficial: Damn, so hot
@Cressidaofficial: And he is cute as hell too
@Cressidaofficial: Poor baby, he was so uncomfortable and trying to keep his composure
@Cressidaofficial: You better bring him home with you, don’t let a man like that wander around all alone in that forest of yours
@Cressidaofficial: And I better be the first one to meet him
@Cressidaofficial: Me needs to inspect that man up close
@Cressidaofficial: I am officially holding a pool party for your return...if you know what I mean :)
@Cressidaofficial: Seriously love, you look HAPPY!
@Cressidaofficial: Whatever you are doing with this new sex bomb, it’s working
@Cressidaofficial: And tell me all about it when you do haha :)
A couple of seconds later, the knock on the door demanded my attention and I ran towards it, opening it with a wide grin. Ansgar received my gaze with an open smile until he had time to take me in and his mouth fell open. I blushed and made way for him to enter.
“If I knew we were dressing up, I would have worn my gala tunics,” he said, grabbing me in his arms and planting a long kiss on my lips, his hands lingering on the curve of my hips.
“And here I was, expecting your shirtless self,” I faked disappointment.
“It can be arranged,” he smirked, his fingers trailing my lower back.
If that’s how our day started, I doubted we would get much done, though I would not be the one complaining. Shortly after, he let go of me softly, releasing my body with a long trail of caresses, until each part of me slipped away from his hold.
“It is proving difficult to control myself around you, especially when you dress like that,” he pointed towards the deep décolletage my boho generously showed. I pursed my lips and threw him a dazzling look.
“Is it difficult for the fae man to get used to human fashion?” I fluttered my eyelashes mockingly, making him chuckle.
“First of all, smartass,” he replied while flicking my nose affectionately and walking back towards the entrance, “it’s fae male, man is the term we have for humans.” I followed him out, trailing after him and wondering where we were going and if I would need any supplies but he continued, “And secondly, if you are to mock my proper title, you should say Fae Prince,” Ansgar announced, making me stop in my tracks.
“Excuse me?” I wheezed a surprised breath. “Prince?”
He nodded and stepped onto the porch, signalling me to follow.
