Bleddyn set his fists on the table and leaned over it.“This is not good,”
Shaking his head, Chanin concurred, “Not at all—”
The crackling radio interrupted their conversation.
Boris yanked it off his belt before speaking into it.“Boris.”
“Duko, here.”The second of the Fang Warriors announced.
Chanin knew Faolan usually managed communications, but the leader guarded Morlie.
“Proceed.”Boris arched a brow, most likely trying to determine why one of the warriors who should be out searching for Farkas was disturbing the interrogations.
“We have company at the border.”Duko continued, “Southwest.”
Drakh?
“The dragons?”Boris frowned.
Bleddyn eyed Chanin.
“Fae.Their queen plus four.Advise.”
Shit.Chanin thought.
“Shit,” Bleddyn proclaimed.
Chanin, who left right after Farkas’s escape, met his Beta’s gaze.“Were the Fae females returned?”With his wolf intent on getting to Morlie, subsequently finding her, and bringing her back to Lupine territory, Chanin didn’t have an opportunity to verify the final situation at the cold storage.
“Yes, Alpha.With your message.”
Apparently, his message wasn’t good enough for Iskah if she was at his border.Chanin flexed his jaw.“Let’s go.”
Boris pressed the radio button.“Hold.We’re on our way.”
Knowing that Valko would keep as they handled the situation at the border, Chanin started toward the door with Boris and Bleddyn behind him.He opened the door and headed out of the warehouse, but Valko’s laughter and words halted him.
“They're coming...and you won’t...be able to stop the carnage—” Valko’s words died on his lips as he passed out.
Chanin didn’t have time to sort through the fanatical verbiage of the rogue. He continued out to meet with the Fae queen.
