“I’ve been in there. It’s a nice shop.” I hug the robe to me. “Thanks.”

“You’re welcome. And I added a hook to the bathroom door. On the back. So you can hang it there.”

I set the robe on the bed and wrap my arms around him. “You’re so sweet.”

He pulls his hands out and hugs me close. “I think you’ll have fun tonight. Feeling okay?”

“Yeah. The nap helped.” I drape the robe over my arm. “But I should get ready. I don’t want to make anyone wait.”

I close myself into the bathroom, turn on the shower, then hang the robe on the back of the door.

Tonight, I’ll learn how to dance. With Parker. And it’ll be fun.

Chapter 20

Parker

Bluebonnet’s smile widens as we walk into the dance hall. Kent and Poppy are in front of us, and they haven’t stopped touching each other since getting out of the truck. And when she slides her hand into his back pocket, Bluebonnet steps closer to me.

Double dating was a fabulous idea.

We pay the cover, then make our way to an empty table.

The band starts playing, and Poppy drags Kent toward the dance floor. “I love this song.”

I’ll wait for a slower song before getting Bluebonnet out there. “Want anything from the bar? A soda or water or anything?”

“Not right now.” She perches on one of the stools. “A while back, at Joji and Clint’s engagement party, Dag asked me to dance. I didn’t because I had no clue what to do with my feet. But it looks so fun.”

“If you follow my lead and don’t think about your feet, you’ll be okay.”

“So this is like one of those trust games, huh?”

I rub her back. “You can trust me.”

“I know I can. But I’m still not sure what I’m supposed to do with my feet.”

“There y’all are!” Dag strides to the table with Goldie a few steps behind him. “I figured this is where y’all were headed.”

She smiles at Bluebonnet. “I hope we aren’t interrupting.”

“No. Have a seat.” Bluebonnet taps the empty stool next to her. “Parker is going to teach me to dance tonight.”

“Fun! I love dancing.” Goldie shoots a glance at Dag.

He scans the room. “Lots of single ladies here tonight. It’ll be a good night.”

Her smile falls away, and I want to smack Dag.

Bluebonnet won’t want to leave Goldie alone at the table all night, so I need to think quickly. We aren’t far from the ranch, so who can I call? Text, rather. I don’t want Dag to hear.

I shoot off a text to Dallas.

Me:Dag dragged Goldie dancing, but he’s going on about how many ladies there are here tonight.

Dallas:Dang. He’s dense. I’ll be there soon.

Me:Thank you
