Chapter One

Eliza

“Ok, you’re dieting, but that doesn’t mean that I care. Just eat your lettuce and continue to be a bitch. But, for God’s sake, do it quietly.” I look in the mirror and check my lipstick for the umpteenth time.

One can never be too careful and the camera can be so unforgiving.

Natalee, my personal assistant and closest friend, glares at me from her chair across the room. She swallows with a grimace and points at me with her fork. “Areyouseriously telling me to be a quieter bitch? Hello, pot. Meet, kettle.” Her stomach growls loudly and I smirk at her and purse my lips in a kiss.

This week, she’s on some kale and apple diet and, since she’s constantly hungry because that shit wouldn’t fill up a mouse, she’s a beast to be around.

I glibly reply, “Yes, I am. But, then again, I’m paid to be a bitch. Chat Time with Eliza McCormick is top rated in our time slot because people actuallycareabout my opinion. You, however, need to eat a cheeseburger and shut the hell up. You’re a bitch because you’re hungry all the time.

“You aren’t fat. You don’t need to diet and men like women with curves.” I stand and smooth my hands down my own curvaceous hips before turning and looking at my ass in the mirror. I slap it and glance at Natalee over my shoulder while winking at her. “Embrace the booty, baby.” I shake my hips and laugh. “You can’t change it. So, you just as soon rock what God and our momma’s gave us.”

I have curves and there’s nothing I can do about it. I learned that a long time ago and stopped trying!

Hell, it worked for Ms. Marilyn and it seems to work for me, too.

You can’t change it, so, your best bet is to embrace it!

She rolls her eyes at me before glaring at her wilted kale and wrinkling her nose. “It’s summer now, Eliza. That means we’re about to travel… we have several destination shows in the next few months. The heartland, the beach… I’m sure there’ll be cause for swimwear… I know I’m not fat, but swimsuits make my anxiety flare.”

I laugh while checking my appearance once more. “Shut up. You’re ridiculous! Throw that rabbit food away. And, rock that sexy body. You have tits and an ass, Nat. Most women do and trust me, men appreciate that fact about us!”

A knock sounds at my door and Natalee calls out, “Come in.”

Marlie, my protégée, and guest co-host for the week, pops her pretty little blonde head in. “Ready for the show?” She looks at herself in my mirror and I glance over her, appreciating the fact that she took my recommendation and chose the cream and navy sheath that perfectly complements my own silk blouse and navy pencil skirt for today’s show. She nods. “You were right. These outfits work great together. I look great. Of course, you always look amazing.”

I laugh in delight and wink at her, “I know. I’ve been doing this a long time, Marlie. Stick with me.

“I’ll teach you all you need to know to get your own show one day.”

I do know. I’m beautiful. I can’t deny it and there’s no point in acting like I’m unaware. I’m a woman who gets attention. I got it before my show and now that I’m a celebrity, I get it even more.

Women want to be more like me and men want to conquer me. Too bad, no man ever will.

I enjoy the company of men. I have relationships, but the second a man starts thinking I’m his property or that he can tell me what to do… it’s game over.

I don’t need, or want, any man to complete me.

Eliza McCormick is self-made, self-reliant, and brutally honest.

People know that when they come on my show, it’s no holds barred. I’ll give it to them straight and I have no qualms giving my opinion. Sometimes feelings get hurt, but I’m not going to lie to anyone to spare their pride.

What you see is what you get and what I say is what I mean.

I’m famous for speaking my mind. It works for me.

I’m either loved or hated by the masses, but either way, I don’t give a shit. Take me or leave me but know one thing… I’m as real as it gets.

From my tongue to my tits, nothing is fake about me.

Natalee checks her watch and nods at the door, “Ok, you both look fantastic. Let’s go. I give them thirty seconds before they’re back here rounding you up, so let’s beat them to it. There’s a great lineup today. It should be an amazing show.”

Marlie heads for the door and I take one more look in the mirror before nodding at myself and smiling. My makeup and hair girl is a gem. I always look perfect and put together without looking like I take any effort to be that way.

Natalee is scrolling through her tablet as she walks, “Eliza, don’t forget, we have the staff meeting at four with the itinerary for our destination show next week. You have to be here all day today. I’ve already rescheduled your massage for Thursday at two.”
