“Lie back, Eden.”

His voice is hoarse.

“Samuel,” I whisper to him, “what are you doing?”

My eyes burn as they water.

“I’m going to cleanse you, Eden. From the inside out.”

“Samuel?”

My voice breaks.

His palm lands on my chest, and he presses me to lie down, but I push back, keeping my sitting position. His eyes darken as he pushes even firmer, causing me to land on the marble stone with a hard thump.

My eyes still lock on to him. He isn’t looking at me anymore. His gaze is set on my lap. His hands land on my hips, and I try to squirm away, but he pushes and grasps them with more force. Gathering the thin dress into his hands, he pulls it slowly up until I am fully exposed to him.

With a sharp inhale, he takes me in, eyes growing hooded.

I turn my face away and slam my eyes shut, still trying to get out of his hold.

He grabs at my throat, pinning me down on the marble slab. “Youwillbear witness to this Holy moment, Eden.” My eyes fly open, staring into the darkness. The pressure ofhis grip tightens. Tears blur my vision of Samuel. “I have waited too long for you, tonotsee yourself become mine.”

His length glides up to my center, and I gag against his hand on my throat.

“Shh. Accept the Divine. Accept me.”

With those last words, he doesn’t wait another moment as he slowly enters me.

The intrusion makes my body seize and fight to block him from entering me but is failing at its attempt.

I try again to wiggle out of his grip, to fight him off, but he doesn’t budge. My nails scratch at his hand on my throat. My legs thrash at him.

His length invades me more and more as he pushes all the way in. A scream rips through me. The burning in my core enhances the nausea stirring in my stomach.

I slam my eyes closed. The numbness I try to coat myself with early dissipates. All I feel is him inside of me. The scream seems to last forever. I hear him grunt as he pulls back out of me and just as slowly as before he enters me again.

“The Divine wants me to take my time with you, Eden.”

His words are breathy, and his pumps grow quicker. Pain sears through me with every thrust.

My cheeks grow cold as my tears coat them. I lay my head back against the marble, telling myself it will be over soon. That the pain will stop. I try to believe that thought.

A loud thud erupts through the room, and I welcome the distraction.

But when my eyes land on Kameron, my cries escape me even more.

The way he is looking at me only confirms my own feelings. The sight of this is just as fucked up as it feels.

Not wanting to see the pity and disgust distorting his blurry features, I slam my eyes closed again.

Kameron

The world stands still.

My breath catches in my throat.
