Right away, her upper lip curled as her eyes narrowed. What kind of role-playing was this? He was supposed to be in character focused on her, not talking to a woman who was showing all thirty-two teeth. There was the look of lust resting in his eyes. He flirted and Bria stewed. She stared at him until the clinking of the glass brought her attention to the counter.

“Here you are, ma’am.”

Bria grabbed the martini glass and took a big gulp, hoping to soothe the rage that boiled inside her. She turned around, noticing the woman with her hand on his leg. Her first mind was to get up and drag the bitch by her neck, but she inhaled a deep breath.

“Okay, Lo…” she whispered.

Her gaze zoomed over the room until she noticed a man sitting at the other end of the bar. Dipped in brown skin with shoulder-length locs and a mustache, he was handsome and fit the bill for her to play with. She didn’t know what Lo’s angle was, but she would remain poised. Since they were role-playing, she would commit to the role and give her best performance.

Slowly, Bria rose from her seat, making sure to make no eye contact with Lo. Strutting over to the other end, she sat down, bringing the attention of the mystery man to her.

“Hey, handsome,” she greeted with a slight purr to her tone. “What’s your name?”

He adjusted his body toward her, wearing eyes that were filled with desire. Up close, he was attractive. His thick brows posed over his deep-set eyes, making her attention go straight to his irises.

“Derek, what’s yours?”

Bria pondered for a brief second and responded, “Mina.”

“Mina,” he repeated, bobbing his head. “I like that. It’s nice to meet you.”

When he extended his hand, Bria gladly shook it.

“What’s a handsome gentleman like you doing sitting over here by yourself?”

He shrugged, swiveling the liquor in his glass. “Just having a drink. I could ask you the same thing.”

Bria wanted to look at Lo to see if he was entertaining ol’ girl but she continued staying locked in with Derek.

“I’m doing the same thing.” She sipped on her drink. “Unwinding after a long week.”

“I hear that.” His gaze traveled from her face then down to her breasts before he settled on her lips. “What you on tonight, Mina?”

She smirked before licking her nude lips. “I guess it’s whatever.”

Bria suddenly felt an overwhelming presence. She looked to her left and spotted Lo. His eyes were dark with his gaze centered on her. This was one of those moments where Bria couldn’t read him. He extended his hand and without giving it a second thought, she grabbed it. Standing from the seat, Bria trailed Lo toward the sofa. They both sat as Bria placed distance between her and him. Lo inspected her, causing jitters to flop in her belly. Even after all this time, Lo still made her nervous.

“What’s your name, beautiful?”

Oh, are we still playing this game?

“Mina.”

He nodded and took a sip of his drink. “Mina, huh? I like that. My name is Kee.”

“Kee, huh?”

He bobbed his head. “You got a man, Mina?”

Bria seductively crossed her leg over the other, giving a peak at her toned thigh.

“I do. Actually, he is my husband.”

“Your husband? Hmm, that’s a bold-ass nigga.”

“Why do you say that?”

“‘Cause he got you out here uncovered, leaving a man like me to swoop in.”
