“What are you going to do, Bria?” Enya asked with worry. “It seems like you’re married to a psychopath. You need to tell Dad.”

She quickly shook her head. “No, I can’t do that. I don’t want to put him in the middle of this.”

“But your husband is torturing you by torturing other men in front of you,” Cali chimed in. “That isn’t normal.”

“I know.” She huffed.

Bria was aware of the circumstances, but she had no real solution. Her mind was scrambled like a set of eggs. There were no clear thoughts floating through her head. Just worry, anxiety, and fear.

“I’m concerned about your safety,” Enya stressed. Being the oldest, she was always concerned with her and Cali. “Do you feel like he’s going to hurt you?”

Bria wanted to say no. She wished she could profess that with Lo, she was safe, but she couldn’t. He was still the man who made her sit through a mental torture while he annihilatedDough. She didn’t think she would ever be comfortable with her own husband.

“I’m not sure.”

Cali shook her head. “I don't know. Maybe he did that because you cheated on him. If he was going to hurt her, he would’ve done it by now.”

“That means nothing,” Enya hissed. “He could be plotting her murder as we speak.”

Cali flicked her hand at her. “He ain't plotting on her.”

“How are you so sure?” Bria asked.

“Because he hasn’t done anything thus far. Yeah, he whooped Dough’s ass but he ain't do nothing to you. Did y’all even talk about your indiscretion?”

Bria nodded.

“And what did he say?” Enya quizzed.

“He said he wants to start over. He realizes that he wasn’t giving me what I needed. Lo takes some of the blame, but I hold most of it.”

“See, that man ain't about to do nothing to her,” Cali quipped.

“Hmm, I don't know.” Enya was unsure. “I don't trust him.”

Bria’s phone chimed, signaling a text message. When she looked at the screen, her muscles tensed.

Lo: I wanna take u on a date tonight. Be ready at eight and wear something sexy.

“Who is that?” Cali asked being nosy.

“It’s Lo… he wants to take me on a date.”

“Aww that’s so romantic,” she cooed.

Enya cut her eyes at Cali. “Girl, focus on him being a psychopath. There’s nothing romantic about this situation.”

“Bria better make the best of it because she’s stuck. She shouldn’t have been cheating.” Cali shrugged.

Bria’s mouth gaped. “Wow, the nerve of you when you have a standing appointment with your sneaky link.”

“But I don't get caught.” She stuck her tongue out.

“Listen, Bria, if you're not comfortable, I think you should go to Dad and tell him so you can get out of this marriage. That man might take you out in your sleep. Don't drag your feet with this situation. Lo is dangerous.”

Bria heard her sister, but this was The Mob, and there were no outs in this marriage. Through fear and worry, she knew she had to stick it out because ultimately, she was the person in the wrong.
