I kicked his ankles and once again filled my voice with command. “Spread your legs.”

When he hesitated, I shoved my feet between them and pushed.

“SPREAD THEM!” I commanded.

He obeyed, and I kneeled between them.

“This won’t work,” he hissed.

By what strained toward me, his body didn’t agree. But Xumi had inserted a whole lot of darkness between being willing and able.

It was up to me to see this through.

I gritted my teeth and closed my fingers around his balls.

He arched up off the ground, his lips peeling back off teeth that looked sharper than they should. What rested beneath the scales pushed for the sky, and they could no longer contain it—I saw smooth skin peeking through.

“I want these scales gone. Now.”

His body came back to the ground. He was almost panting, his lust flaring into the chaos. “More,” he pleaded.

I blasted him with true alpha power, and he groaned and writhed. The scales peeled away from the glistening, burgeoning tip of him, revealing a girth that liquefied my core.

“All of it,” I demanded, sending another burst that had him gasping. “I want all of it.”

Between one breath and the next, he pulled them away. Those beneath my fingers gave way to smooth skin.

I pulled on the smooth rounded globe in my grasp, and his knees came up on each side of me. But I didn’t need to hurt him to get what I wanted.

I knew that now.

I slid up his body, rubbing my own along his length before straddling him. Then I poised over his quivering flesh.

“Anna—”

“You are going to fucking screw me, Talakai. Hard, and fast.” Every word was laced with power.

I planted my hands on his broad chest and sent the alpha magic coursing through him. He arched up as I pushed down, my liquid heat stretching to fold around his girth.

“Shards, Anna—” the words vibrated with need. He expanded within me, silk-covered steel, and his fingers dug into my hips, guiding me faster. “More,” he begged. “I need more.”

I gritted my teeth, my body tightening around him. I ground down, swayed my hips, and squeezed as he gasped. My brain lit with white fire as I hovered at the edge, and I knew he was close too, but waiting for the last push to take him there.

I reached deeper and blasted him with everything I had.

He came clear up off the ground with a shout that rang across the plateau, and his rush of ecstasy took me over the edge with him. I cried out as the waves pulsed through me, my fingers spasming against his skin.

But even as I collapsed against him, his strong fingers grabbed my waist and pulled me away. In a fluid movement, he rolled out from beneath me and to his feet.

“Talakai—”

His wings expanded, blocking the sky.

“No. Stay.” But my voice lacked the power.

He shook his head, the bones shifting beneath his skin. “This isn’t real.”

“You know that isn’t true.”
