What would it matter if she didn’t?
Jessie gritted her teeth. The only way out of this, was through. And they were almost out of time. In two days, the full moon would rise.
And they would turn into beasts.

Kade lay on the cot, staring at the ceiling, when Neil entered the room. The other Sabre walked toward the laptop he’d left on the end table, but stopped before he reached it.
He was staring at his phone.
“Jeezus,” he said.
Kade sat up. “What’s the problem?”
“Just got a message from a guy named Alex that he knows where Sarah is.”
Sarah. The woman the Dires had reclaimed. Kade’s heart accelerated. “Why would he contact you?”
Neil shook his head. “I have no idea.” He punched in a number. Kade listened in as a deep, slightly accented voice answered.
“Alex here.”
“This is Neil. You left me a message about Sarah.”
“Give me a minute.”
Silence. Then, “I know where she is. But I need your help to get her out.”
Kade mouthed. “Who?”
Neil asked, “Who are you?”
A hesitation. Then, “I’m soon to be an ex-member of Braden’s pack.”
A Dire. Kade met Neil’s wide eyes.
The Dire continued. “I can’t talk about this here. I need you to meet me.”
Kade’s heart accelerated. It could be a trap. But if it wasn’t...
“When and where?” Neil asked.
A pause, and then the voice said, “Meet me in the main lot at La Barrier Park at one o’clock. Look for a white van. I’ll be in the far corner.”
“How do I know I can trust you?” Neil asked.
“You don’t.” The Dire’s voice was surprisingly calm. “We’re going to have to build this from scratch, compadre. It’s the only way.”
Kade nodded to Neil.
“I’ll be there.”
The line went dead. Neil met Kade’s stare. “Think it’s a trap?” he asked.
Kade grimaced. “An attempt to grab you, maybe? Then trade for the women? Could be.”
“But if he’s honest, it could be our chance at getting Sarah back.”
