The Here and Now
Four days later — Eve before Summer Solstice
"So are you a dragon or a tiger? A koala bear maybe?"
I cringe at Allie's words, her tone much cheerier than I'd expect considering she just found out shifters exist.
Thankfully, it's because her and Andrej did the deed, set a record between the four of us by boinking her man just a few short hours after they met.
Daisy woke shortly after Kai went to see Andrej and Havok and since my bestie didn't know I was awake still, Allie took her to the living room to try to sooth her when everything else she tried failed.
I could hear her singing softly to Daisy, trying to calm her down, get her to go back to sleep but that sweet little babe wasn't having it.
After Kai came back to bed, I heard his brothers return to their apartments but about a half hour later, Andrej ventured out of his quarters—I'm assuming in search of the source of the noise since there was definitely not a baby in the house before he left to find Havok.
Not even twenty minutes later, Daisy stopped crying and the house fell silent, which is why when my alarm went off for our meeting, I hauled ass to the living room to see if my gut feeling was right and sure as shit, it was.
I found the three of them cuddled up on the couch asleep then immediately went to get Kai so he could see too.
Then, apparently, while we were having our strategy meeting, Andrej spoke many words to Allie, explained what he is, who she is to him and they got right to mating.
I'm not really shocked after seeing them together.
Allie is super protective of Daisy, of herself, and both of their hearts so to see them cuddled up to Andrej the way they were definitely meant she felt their life-bond immediately and didn't doubt anything he told her.
I guess they did their thing in his den while Daisy snoozed in his bed, then immediately moved all of her stuff into his apartment.
How do I know all this?
A,because I'm apparently a psychic that is very in tune with when others find their mates, andB,Allie ran into Grace while they were moving and somehow the fact that she's a tiger came up. Al got super pissed and lit into her over keeping it a secret for so many years.
I am shocked it took her so many days to finally confront me though, but it looks like I'm next on her shit list now.
"A dragon." I sigh as I hug my knees to my chest. "A ninety-three-year-old dragon."
Al plops down on the couch next to me. "You could have told me."

The whole time I've been friends with Allie and Casey I've been under my own damn glamour.

"I get it." She pulls her legs up on the cushion and mirrors my position. "Andrej said shifters are pretty secretive."
