“I know and I appreciate that. But, Xavier, I've been looking forward to having a faceoff with them since the morning it fully sunk in what had happened to me under their watch! They were supposed to protect me, not attack me. Rape me. Beat me,” I exclaim, pounding my closed fist to my chest for emphasis. “I wouldn’t necessarily say we were friends, but I did trust them to a smidgeon of a degree, and they broke something inside of me when they stomped all over the trust I did give them.”
“Which is the exact reason why I'm letting you be in charge of what happens in there. You don’t know how hard this is for me to watch you put yourself in the line of fire,” he hisses. “I’m trusting you to know your own limitations, both mentally and emotionally, and calling it quits if it ends up becoming too overwhelming for you to handle.”
I square my shoulders and look him dead in the eyes. “All I want to do, Xavier, is say my piece, get a few licks in, and get the hell out. The less time I have to be in the same room as them, the better. Once I'm done, you and the brothers can do whatever it is you want to do to them.”
“I hope you kick them in the balls, cut them off, and shove them down their throats,” Luna sneers, showing her bloodthirsty side, which has all three men snapping their heads in her direction with their mouths hanging wide open and eyes as large as saucers. “If it wasn't in your plan, Demi, do it for me.”
“You want me to chop their balls off and shove them down their throats?” I confirm.
“Affirmative,” she concludes, nodding her head with absoluteness.
Xavier turns his head back in my direction, and quietly says, “I told you she was carrying the spawn of a demon. One day, you people are going to listen to me and believe what I say is the truth. It’s the only thing that explains how our sweet, caring Luna has turned into a savage being with her sights set on vengeance.”
I snort before smacking him on the shoulder with the back of my hand. “I would be the exact same way if it was somebody I loved having the same things that happened to me happen to them.”
“That’s a lot of happenings,” Xavier teases, his jokester self returning.
“I’m riled up,” I explain. “Now’s not the time to make fun of my ranting, Xavier.”
His arm snakes out and constricts itself around my neck as he pulls me into his constraining embrace. “That's not what I was doing, baby. I swear. Are you ready to head inside and get this show on the road?”
I twist in his arms, wrapmyarms aroundhisneck in a choking hold, and tell him, “As long as you and the rest of these guys remember this is a one show act and I'm the ringmaster of this circus, I am.”
“I told you we were gonna give you the floor and I mean it, Demi. Am I happy about it? Hell no I’m not, but I understand it. I will always have your back, woman.”
I keep my eyes glued to his so I can see if there are any signs of deception, when his stay trained on mine without shifting, Iknow he’s giving me a silent promise to stay in the background unless things get out of control. I nod my head and reach down and grab his hand with mine. Now, I’m ready. Xavier may not know this, but by simply holding his hand, he gives me the strength I need to stay strong while doing this.
I let him lead me through the kitchen and through the entrance way, eventually taking me to the common room where I see my four targets slumped into the recliners. Their eyes are glassy and I can feel the fear emanating from them.
Good.
It’s the exact same way I felt many months ago when they laced my drink. They deserve to feel out of control and unable to move their limbs and lips.
Xavier walks me to the middle of the room and then gently squeezes my hand before stepping back. I give him a confident smile before putting one foot in front of the other and stepping in their line of sight.
“Gentlemen,” I say, clapping my hands, the thunderous sound booming through the room. “It was soverykind of y'all to come and join us tonight for the festivities. Have you missed me? Because Isureas hell have missed you. Want to know what I've missed the most?”
My body is strung as tight as a crossbow as I lean forward, basically spitting in their faces. It’s a little disappointing that they can’t speak, I’d love to hear them try and defend themselves and their actions, but even without that bantering, I’m still dead set on saying what needs to be said and shoving my fists into their lying, manipulative mouths.
“What? Y'all’ve got nothing to say? Isn't that an extraordinary change of events? It's kind of traumatic not having control of any part of your body, isn't it? God, I've got so many questions to ask you, it's too bad you won't be able to answer me. I'm sure my man and his brothers would love to hear your excuses for what your slimy selves did to me. Isn’t that right, Xavier?”
“It's a damn shame, baby doll, that they can't give me their reasons for fucking touching you. I'd love nothing more than to hear them try to validate why they did what they did. Unfuckingfortunately, they've been silenced, so we won't get any excuses outta them. We just need to make them pay.”
“Oh, they're gonna pay. I promise you, Xavier, they're gonna pay. First by my hand, then by yours.” Conspiratively, I tell the group of perpetrators, “Too bad I can’t be there once the guys get their hands on you, it’ll be too gruesome and outlandish for my feminine sensibilities.”
“Damn fucking straight it will be,” Kodiak imparts.
“David, Joey, Liam, and Niles, I’d like you to meet my brother-in-law, who just so happens to be the president of the Deviant Knights, Kodiak. Kodiak, I know you’ve had the displeasure of meeting these four, but these are the men who drugged me, immobilized me and raped me. Couldn’t have me fighting back, these four men are all too much of a pussy for that.”
“Honey,” Kodiak sighs, talking to me. “These aren’t men, these are cowards.”
“Damn skippy,” Luna adds, and as I glance back, I see her munching on a candy bar.
When she notices my vision has turned to her, she shoots me two thumbs up, mushing her treat and frowning at it as if it’s betrayed her.
“Damn. We got another one back here, Rev? The baby is hungry.”
Shaking my head, I tune them out, and level my attention back to the four reasons I’m here. “Did I beg you to stop? Only asking because I can’t remember much about that night.” When they continue to look at me through foggy eyes, I sigh. “Yeah, I know, you can’t answer me, but I have a lot of assumptions about what took place that evening, and none of them are friendly.”
