“Mack?”

“Huh?” His headsnappedup.

Across the table, Logan smirked. “She was asking if you wanted anymoreeggs.”

Mack turned his attention on Madison. “Uh,yeah.Sure.”

“I’ll be right back,”shesaid.

He forced himself to keep his gaze glued to the table. His bear would lose his mind if he took one look at her swaying, curvy butt. Damn. He needed to go for a run. Or maybe cut a few cords of firewood. He needed to get away from her before he did somethingstupid.

When she returned to the table, she leaned over to slide two more eggs onto his plate. A whiff of honey-almond soap rolled off her skin. He dug his fingers into his jeans to keep from reachingforher.

“Thank you,” he saidgruffly.

“Noproblem.”

Hank turned toward her as she settled into her chair. “So where did you say youlived?”

A shadow of a frown crossed her face for a split second. “Seattle.”

“What made you want to come out here for thewinter?”

She shifted in the chair. “I was looking for work and thought this would be agoodfit.”

The corner of Logan’s mouth lifted as he said, “A good fit isimportant.”

“It sure is,” she chuckled, and discreetly glancedatMack.

A flood of desire rolled through his body. What did that look mean? Was she thinking about their hot, frantic sex in the truck? And more importantly, did she stillwanthim?

He shook his head. He shouldn’t be thinking these kinds of thoughts. She was off-limits. He’d have to keep reminding himself, and his bear, ofthatfact.

“Do you have family in Seattle?” Hankasked.

She pushed a spoon through the eggs on her plate. “Notreally.”

Mack cocked his head to one side. “What doyoumean?”

“My parents live there, but we’re notclose.”

“Ever been married?” Loganasked.

A beat later sheresponded. “Nope.”

Mack watched her intently. Something was off about herresponses.

“I’m surprised some lucky man didn’t snap you up yet,”Hanksaid.

A blush rose up from her neck. “What about you? Are youmarried?”

Hanksmiled. “No.”

“Whynot?”

“I haven’t found the rightwomanyet.”

“We’re all single except for our brother Brady,”Macksaid.
