“Yourhoney bear,” Drew air-quoted, “needs to think about the consequences of her decisions. Also, I’m pretty damn insulted that she thinks I can’t find a wife of my own. If I wanted a woman around to nag me all day, I’d hook up with someoneintown.”
“She means well,”Macksaid.
Drew chomped on another bite of apple to keep from saying something he couldn’t take back. He didn’t understand why his brothers would let their mates get away with murder. Maybe they were totallywhipped.
“Where is Madison anyway?” Drewasked.
“Resting.”
“Please tell me you took herlaptopaway.”
“She’s not a child,” Mack said with a slightfrown.
Definitelywhipped.
“How do you know she doesn’t have two more wives lined up for me?” Drewasked.
“Look, I get that you’re pissed, but Sharon seemed to take it really well,” Mack said. “And you have to admit—my wife has good taste inwomen.”
Drewlaughed.
“Okay, fine,” Drew said. “I’ll at least admit that much. Did you see the curves on that woman? Damn. My bear about losthismind.”
“Can you blame him?” Mackgrinned.
“Iguessnot.”
“Maybe you should get to know her,” Mack said. “This could work out wellforyou.”
“Oh, God. Don’t you start in on this too.” Drew tossed the apple core across the kitchen into the sink. “I get that you guys are deliriously happy, but I’m perfectly fine on my own. We don’t need another woman running around here causingchaos.”
“Other than finding you a wife,” Mack said while barely keeping a straight face. “What else has Madison done to createproblems?”
“Well…”
“I’ll wait,” Mack said with asmirk.
“Fine. She’s perfect in every way, except for when she tries to find a wife for someone who doesn’tneedone.”
“It won’t happen again,” Mack said. “Anyway, is all the tack cleaned andoiled?”
“Yep, I finished up right before you guys came over to tell me about my new wife,”Drewsaid.
“Have you had a chance to check on the shipment of hay?” Mackasked.
“That’s next onmylist.”
“I’ll have Logan take care of it. He needs to call about the supplies for his barn too. They want to schedule their first shipment to arrive right after the wedding,”Macksaid.
“I can’t believe Brady and Rachel are finally getting married. It feels like they’ve been engagedforever.”
“It’s only been a few months,”Macksaid.
“It feels like forever,” Drewgrumbled.
“Why are you so against marriage and relationships?” Mackasked.
“I just don’t see the point. I don’t need another person to have to worry about when I have all of you guys,” Drew said while trying to keep a hint of fake humor in his tone. “The day I get married is the day hell willfreezeover.”
