“Yeah, at Ms. L’s Center. Pyrite helped me get her a spot when I signed to him.”

“He knows the owner?”

“Yeah, Lynx, the owner, is married to his friend. You haven’t met Fire yet?”

“No.”

“Wait till you do,” Sunday laughed. “Lynx is pregnant with twins, and he’s stressed.”

“Why? He’s not ready or something?”

“Oh nah, Fire is a good ass daddy; they already have a set of twin boys,” Sunday said, shaking her head. “It's just that Fire is spoiled as fuck and swears that the boys will take all of her attention, and he just can’t handle that.”

“He needs a daughter,” I laughed. “Usually, girls are under their daddy.”

“We hope that’s what they're having, but we won't find out for another few weeks,” Sunday said, shaking her head. “I haven’t said it to him yet, but I hope it's boys because he’s a brat.”

The oven sounded, and I picked up the tray and put it in it. “Alright, while that bakes, we can start on some other stuff,” I said, turning to KO. “How do you feel about honey?”

“I love it,” she answered. “Why?”

“Because I have an idea.” I grabbed the extra dough I’d made from the fridge and set it on the counter. “Now, wash your hands so we can get to work.”

“You know how to swim?” Pyrite asked me. “Let’s go swimming.”

“I don’t have a swimsuit,” I said while cleaning. KO and Sunday had left after being here nearly five hours. We made a lot of progress on her cookies and even came up with some designs for her daughter.

“In your room already,” Pyrite said as he left.

I finished cleaning, made sure the oven was off, and went to my room to change. I was tired but not sleepy, and a dip in the pool sounded like just what I needed. Especially since I planned to wash and deep condition my hair later. After I changed into the black two-piece swimsuit, I grabbed a towel from the closet and went to the pool.

“Is the water cold?” I asked Pyrite as I walked outside. I put my towel on one of the chairs near the pool and took off my shoes.

Pyrite sat on the pool's edge with his feet in the water. Water rolled off his shoulders, making his skin glisten. “Nah,” he said, shaking his head. He’d pulled his hair up in a ponytail before he left, and it swayed behind him. “You never answered my question; can you swim?”

“Yeah,” I answered as I walked to the pool's edge. I knew the ankle monitor was waterproof, but I hesitated to get in. I didn’t care about damaging it, but I didn’t want it to short out and shock me.

“Then get in.” He stood up and stretched his arms over his head, and I noticed he had more tattoos on his ribs. Almost his entire chest and back were covered with different tattoos. When I didn’t move, he approached me and pulled me to him. “You scared?”

“No,” I said, looking up at him. He licked his lips and then nodded.

“Then hold on,” he said, pulling me into the pool.

The water wasn’t cold, but it was still a shock to my system. I swam to the top, wiped my face with my hands, then started treading the water. Pyrite came up a few seconds later, wiped his face, and smiled at me.

“I was going to get in.” I splashed water at him. “I didn’t need your help.”

“I thought you did,” he laughed and swam around me. “You get everything situated with KO?”

“Yep,” I nodded. “She was happy with her decision, and we even designed something for her daughter, Ki.”

“That’s what’s up.” He continued to circle me, and I followed his movements. “Rhodes called me earlier and said that he’s happy with his shit, too. He was talking shit to one of the other players, and now them niggas blowing up my line trying to figure out what day they are coming over.”

“What did you tell them?”

“Not to call my phone until after the arena opens back up,” he answered with a laugh. “Everybody is off.”

“Not me,” I said.
