I started to laugh and shook my head. “Yes, you are,” I replied. “And if you aren’t, you will be by the time I’m finished with you.” I stood, adjusted my suit jacket, and picked up my gun from the table. “Be at Stone Arena in three days.”

“Three days?” Javien Jr. yelled, and I grilled him. “I haven’t even signed a contract! What’s your offer? How much money will I be making? The bitches? The fucking perks?”

I looked at Javien Sr. and lifted my brow. This was the nigga he was offering me to clear his debt? This shit wasn’t going to last longer than a few months. “Control your son; let him know he works for me; his money is mine. You better-”

“Nigga, I’m right here! Speak to me like a fucking grown man!” Javien Jr. yelled, and I turned my attention to him.

I closed the space between us, pushed my gun under his chin, and stared into his eyes so he could see what a real maniac looked like. “I’m talking to your Pops because you’re a fucking child in my eyes, lil nigga!” I calmly said to him. “This shit is grown man business, and you showing that you still sit at the little kid table, trying to be rough and tough.”

“Javien Jr., calm the fuck down!” his father yelled, and I smirked.

“Listen to daddy, son, before he has to bury the only thing that’s keeping him above ground,” I warned. “Be at Stone Arena in three days for training camp.”

“Can he have a week?” Javien Sr. asked, and I turned to look at him. “We have to bury my brother.” He pointed to his brother's body. “Allow our family time to mourn.”

“No,” I answered, and his stunned look made me smile. “Three days, or I’m coming back to collect my full payment.” Iturned to Javien Jr. and grilled him. “The Kings aren’t with the bullshit. Keep your fucking head down and your name clean. The second I get wind of you showing the fuck out, I’ll kill you my damn self, you understand?”

Javien Jr. looked like he wanted to buck, so I grabbed him around the collar and dragged him to me. Professional athletes were cocky as fuck and often used their size to try and intimidate people. I was as big as Javien in height and weight, but I was also more disciplined. Me snatching his ass up was a shock to him and his people.

“I asked you a fucking question, lil nigga. Do you understand what the fuck I just said?” I questioned him, and he nodded in response. “Head the fuck down, name clean. No excuses.”

“What is my contract?” he asked, and I smirked.

“Talk to your Pops about the amount that he owes and how you’ll be paying it off,” I answered, then pushed him out of the way.

My brothers stood from their seats, closing the distance between us, and we left as boldly as we entered, as a family unit.

“I give that nigga three months,” Citrine said once we were back on the plane and in the air.

I looked up from the report that had my attention and lifted my brow in question. “Ninety days?” I asked, and he nodded. “The ink on his contract won't even be dry by then.”

“Ninety-six then,” Citrine countered, and I laughed. “He's young, cocky, and got a dumb ass daddy for an example. He’s going to try you to prove a point.”

“I already know,” I agreed with a nod. “Which is why I have Morning already working on his contract and life insurance policy.”

“What do you know about him?” Amethyst asked, even though his attention was on his phone. “Will he even work with Givens and Infinite? They aren’t known for keeping the peace.”

“They won’t be a problem,” I said as I reclined in my seat. “I’ll speak to them later and explain what’s going on. Givens’ attention has been on helping me recruit for the Queens anyway.”

“How’s that going?” Citrine asked from his seat next to Amethyst. “You locked down Mercy, who’s next?”

“Legacy Glover,” I answered, and Citrine whistled in surprise.

“You’re putting them back together?” he smiled and nodded. “They were dope in college and even more respected now. I know that getting them back together will increase the numbers.”

“As soon as we get back to KC, Hood and I are heading to meet her in person,” I said. “I told you I wanted to build a championship team. The only way to do that is to get the best. Getting ‘The Point Guard’ on my starting five lineup is the way to get it.”

“Hell Raiser and The Point Guard,” Citrine laughed and nodded. “I love it.” He sat forward and smirked. “Tell me, lil bro, who else you got in mind for your starting five?”

I copied his movements, stared him in the eyes, and smirked. “You’ll have to wait and see.”

“We need to talk,”Javien Sr. announced as he barged into my bakery. I looked up from my recipe book and grilled him. Javien Jr. entered behind him with a mug on his face. I closed my book, grateful that no one was in here, and gave my sperm donor the little bit of attention I could muster to give him. “Why didn’t you show up to the board meeting?”

“I had business to take care of,” I answered, giving him the same look of disdain that he gave me. I never showed up to board meetings, and Senior knew it. I hated being connected to anything related to Javien Sr. or his son. The fact that I had to go to Javien Jr. for money to open my bakery years ago still irked my soul. I was close to paying him back, though; just another two years, and ‘Story Time’ was all mine.

“It was a family meeting!” Javien senior, yelled.
