The screen went black as Carlee pointed the remote at the screen. “You don’t need to watch the rest. The little girl lives, but the mother doesn’t.”
“I don’t understand,” I whispered.
“All of these tapes are the blackmail. Russell was using electronics to spy on people and then using the blackmail and forcing people to do his bidding. It didn’t stop with our premonitions and remote viewing. He wanted more to watch. More to see. More to blackmail.”
I glanced at the thousands and thousands of discs on the shelves. My heart kicked hard.
“You saw this room?” I asked with renewed understanding.
“Yes. I saw this room when I was watching you. He was watching videos of you on these,” she said and broke another CD.
“You should have gone to law enforcement,” I said, picking up one disc she hadn’t broken. I moved to the player and ejected the other before starting the one I’d picked up.
I hit Play.
