He cares about me,Linus realized. And—I was in heat.
We didn’t use a condom.
And now Storm’s come was locked inside Linus’ body. It would be trapped there for the half-hour they were locked together. Linus’ breath hitched.
“What’s wrong?” Storm asked, rubbing Linus’ chest.
“I’m not on any kind of birth control,” Linus blurted. “I—I never expected anything to happen during my heats.”
Storm tensed behind him. “Oh, fuck.”

PANIC TIME
Storm panicked a little.
Offhand, he didn’t know how likely it was for Linus to conceive. Really because he had never expected things to get this far with his omega.
“I didn’t know you were going into heat,” he blurted.
Linus winced. “It wasn’t due for another few days. I—I guess it came early.”
“How?”
The professor’s cheeks turned red. “It... might have been because you were nearby. And... I’m attracted to you.”
Storm’s heart skipped. “You are? I mean, you would have to bereallyattracted to me for it to impact your heat.”
Linus ducked his head. “I guess I am.”
Storm couldn’t help but hug his omega closer. “Mine,” he whispered, brushing the scent glands on his wrists down Linus’ body. “All mine.”
Linus’ blush deepened. He was so beautiful.
Now that he was allowed to be so close to his omega, Storm took the chance to examine Linus’ scent glands. On all three of them—his wrists and the crook of his neck—Linus had been marked by a silvery bite scar. Storm narrowed his eyes. Whoever that alpha had been, they clearly did not deserve his sweet, precious professor.
It was Storm’s secret dream to have his own bonding marks on Linus—not that he would ever pressure his omega for it.
He kissed the scent gland on Linus’ neck, then moved his lips a little further away, nipping and sucking on Linus’ shoulder until he had left a tiny love bite. A small one, easily hidden by Linus’ shirt. But Storm would know it was there; he would know that Linus wore his mark on his skin.
“You’re amazing,” he whispered.
Linus lowered his head in submission; Storm wanted to roar.
Then, because Storm had caused this mess, he straightened, cupping Linus’ throat lightly with his hand. “We should talk.”
Linus cracked a smile. “Okay.”
“Whatever happens as a result of today... I’ll be responsible for it,” Storm said. “I don’t have the slightest clue what goes into being a dad. But I’m gonna help with the childcare. And the bills. And... What else do babies need? Sippy cups? TV?”
Linus laughed a little. “They need all sorts of things. Attention. Care. Love.”
Those were vague concepts. How would Storm keep a baby alive with some love? It certainly wouldn’t keep the babyfed.
“I’m gonna need your help,” he said, trying not to panic again. “I don’t want to fuck up. But babies are so small that even a small mistake could be really bad. What if I drop the—our baby?”
That was enough to make his stomach clench.
