“That sounds terrifying.”

“They were okay. I had friends watching out for me. But I won’t let them near you,” Storm said flatly.

Linus nodded gratefully. But the more he studied the alpha in front of him, the more this didn’t make sense. “You know there are other omegas out there, right?”

Storm sighed. “And none of them are like you. No one understands how amazing you are. Sometimes I want to shout it at the world, so more people appreciate you. But then I want to hide you, in case someone better qualified comes along and steals you from under my nose.”

A hot blush stained Linus’ cheeks. Storm smiled slightly, trailing his fingertips up Linus’ forearm.

Then he stepped closer, and pressed a soft kiss to Linus’ forehead.

This is moving fast,Linus thought.

But it also felt right.

“C’mon, let’s not stick around here for too long.” Storm glanced at the classroom door and gathered Linus’ things along with his own.

Linus followed him through the hallways, his forehead tingling.Storm wants to be my alpha.“I’m older than you.”

Storm shrugged.

“I get nightmares.”

“I know. I hate whatever gave you the nightmares. You don’t deserve them.”

Linus sighed. “I’ve been through some bad things. And you don’t know enough about me to make a decision this big.”

Storm slanted a look at him. “I know more about you than you think. And yet I’m here anyway.”

Linus didn’t dare to ask what else Storm knew.

At his office, he unlocked the door, holding it open so Storm could follow him in.

The moment the door closed, electricity crackled between them.

Linus wasn’t even facing the alpha. But he was entirely aware of this tiny space, the heat of Storm’s body warming his skin.

Storm looked around. “I’ve always wanted to see the inside of your office. Couldn’t do that as an online-only student.”

“There’s not much here.” Just his desk, his computer, and several textbooks and folders.

Therewas, however, a small couch in the corner, where Linus sometimes stole a nap or two.

“This place smells like you.” Storm took several deep breaths. “I—I’ve imagined you in here several times.”

Linus blushed. “Doing what?”

Those blue eyes darkened. “Oh, you know. Professorly things.”

But Linus saw the way Storm sized up his desk, then the couch.

“Do you think there’s space for me under the desk?” Storm asked.

Heat rushed through Linus’ face. “I don’t think so. It’s too small.”

Storm grinned and stalked around the desk, studying the space for Linus’ legs. “I’ve thought about it, you know. Tucking myself in here, servicing you while you hold your office hours.”

Linus stopped thinking. “Y-you can’t possibly—”
